Hello all our wonderful customers & friends, we are currently trying really hard to raise funds for helping the Te Aroha community. Please help share this message- like & share this post- explaining our BIGGEST hindrance to raising funds for the well being of animals. 😿

Op shops are not free rubbish removal services. When people leave broken, dirty, or unsellable items outside after hours, it creates a massive financial and physical burden for charities. These disposal costs divert critical funds—often costing thousands of dollars a year—away from community services and those who need it most.
It's Illegal Dumping: Leaving items on the footpath or outside closed doors isn't donating—it is illegal dumping and can result in council fines of up to Nz$400. Damaged Items Hurt Charities: Unusable items, broken electronics, stained clothes, and mouldy mattresses cannot be sold. Charities are forced to pay commercial dumping fees out of their own pockets to send these items to the landfill.Think About the Volunteers: Volunteers and staff have to spend hours sorting, cleaning, and paying to dispose of rubbish. If they have to clear dumpers' messes, they have less time to process good donations or run their charitable programs.

Te Aroha, We need Volunteers Please! Can you spare anytime to help us clean & sort donations? We appreciate your donations, however often they require cleaning before presenting & We are short on helpers!

As much as I appreciate all your wonderful donations I am unable to take any more at this time. I am presently over stocked and have no room for any more.
Thank you for your generosity and I will let you know when we can accept more

Please do not drop donations to the shop out of opening hours. Somebody dropped a box of clothing this morning and left it beside the town rubbish bin. I do not have the time or money to pay for rubbish to be dumped.
If things are left by the rubbish bins I get blamed for it and will be fined $250 from the council.
