Help celebrate BPCT’s 25th Birthday by buying yourself (or a friend) a fabulous gift!

As part of our 25th anniversary fundraising effort, we’re running a ‘Silent Auction’, featuring 50 utterly amazing items, experiences and activities. Every special piece has been generously donated by local people, businesses, supporters and artists.

Some of the amazing gifts include an original (and joyful!) painting by Clare Reilly, an Akaroa Cooking School experience, a truly gorgeous original miromiro painting by Le Bons Bay conservation artist, Anna Gibbs, food and beverage vouchers, handcrafted tūī feeders...and so many more amazing items.

As we end the week, we're also ending a long and lovely association with Kirsty Brennan from Lyttelton Port Company.

Kirsty has been an awesome part of the Environment and Sustainability team at LPC for the last few years, and committed to supporting BPCT's work, particularly at LPC's two covenants, Port Saddle and Gollans Bay.

We will miss you, Kirsty...and we wish you all the best for your return to Australia. 💚👋

Annual Reports have yet to make it onto the New York Times 'best seller' list...but that's because they haven't read ours!

BPCT's 2025/26 Annual report is a feast for the senses - it's actually a wonder Netflix hasn't approached us to make a miniseries out of it. It's full of action (community-led), epic battles (PFBP v pests), triumph over adversity (species once lost are now thriving) and some of the best-looking actors ever (our people, our partners, community groups and supporters) ...all set amongst some of the best scenery on the planet. Thanks Banks Peninsula (people and places), you really are the best!

We're hosting a BIG working bee at our little reserve in Tai Tapu and we'd love you to join us!

Working alongside our lovely friends from Conservation Volunteers New Zealand, we'll move our mulch mountain, maintain the native plants, clean up around the tracks and do whatever else we need to help create a thriving wee biodiversity steppingstone.

When: Friday 16th October 9.30am - 12.30pm

As a charity, BPCT knows all about fundraising! This month is Blue September - prostate cancer awareness month - and one of our amazing staff members has 'gone walkabout' to help raise awareness and money.

Marie Neal is walking 280km across Portugal’s Camino Portugués trail, alongside three friends - carrying with them messages of hope and support for men and families affected by prostate cancer.

The money raised will help local men and their families access the support they need, including helping provide access to unfunded Prost FIT exercise classes.

We were so excited this week to host RNZ Country Life reporter, Anisha Satya. Anisha is sharing some wonderful stories of our Farm Biodiversity programme and its value to peninsula landowners. Our grateful thanks to the 'interviewees', Tim Coop, and Ian and Sarah from Te Ahu Pataki.
