Dear Property Owner
Contract 1468 - Old Tai Tapu Road Underground Power Conversion Works
We are writing to inform you of upcoming planned works to underground the existing overhead power lines along Old Tai Tapu Road.
The planned works will include removing the existing overhead power lines along Old Tai Tapu Road between State Highway 75 (Christchurch- Akaroa Road) to Forbes Road.
As part of the underground conversion, new street lighting poles will be installed along this section of road.
The works will also impact sections of nearby carriageways, where some power poles may be renewed, removed or relocated. New kiosks and boundary boxes will also be installed where required. An attached map shows the location of the works.
Orion has awarded the contract to Power Joining Ltd (PJL). A works notice, including contract details and programmed dates will be sent closer to the start of construction by PJL and/or Orion.
At this stage, construction is expected to begin in May 2026 and will be completed by the end of June 2026.
During construction, traffic management will be in place. PJL and Orion will keep you informed of any traffic management changes that could affect your property via letterbox drops or direct notices. Traffic management updates will also be available at selwyn.govt.nz/road closures.
