Theodora came into our care after she was found living as a stray. Since then, sweet Theodora has been residing in our Centre and is now ready to find her forever home!

Theodora is an affectionate, curious kitten who loves to play and explore. You can find Theodora hanging out with her roommates, zooming around with a toy, or absolutely charming the pants off of a passing visitor!

When it comes to people, Theodora is super friendly and confident. She's the sort of kitten who will run right up to you to say hi, ready to play and eager for rubs.

Meet the Jackson Five 🐾

Straight from the cutest Motown-inspired lineup you'll ever meet, Tito, Jermaine, Michael, Randy, and Marlon are a litter of five playful little performers looking for loving forever homes.

Michael is the charismatic frontman - curious, clever, and always ready to moonwalk across the hallway at 2 a.m.

Tito is the mellow sweetheart of the group, happiest when he's quietly jamming beside you for cuddles and chin scratches.

Jermaine brings the smooth charm - affectionate once he trusts you, with a purr that deserves its own record deal.

Big thanks to the Rotorua Firefighters for coming down and helping us get some work done around the centre as a part of their "Strike for Good"! We and our furry friends loved having you 🐾♥️

These strikes is again focused entirely on the drive pushing for 50,000 signatures to force a full independent inquiry into FENZ's systemic waste and fleet failures. If you see their crews out on the picket lines or walking the streets, go over, say hello, and add your name to the list. Let's hit that 50K target.

Introducing Andy!

Andy is a loving, sweet boy who was brought into our care by our inspectorate team. When Andy first came to us, he was underweight and very unwell- but he was determined to fight and get better. Since then, been receiving lots of love and care in our Centre and has thankfully made a good recovery!

When it comes to people, Andy is very friendly, though he may be a little shy when you first meet him. Due to his history, Andy may get a little nervous when meeting new people or visiting new places. Once he gets to know you, however, Andy will quickly come out of his shell and show you his loving personality and gentle nature ❤

Meet Spook 🐾

Spook's story started with a rough beginning. He was found abandoned outside our center as a tiny kitten, far too young to be on his own. Thankfully, he was taken into foster care, where he received all the love, care, and cuddles he needed to grow into the happy, playful boy he is today.

When playtime is over, Spook reveals his softer side. He enjoys curling up beside his favorite people for naps and affection, happily accepting pets and attention. Having been raised in a loving foster home, he's learned that people can be trusted and loved.

Spook is looking for a forever family who will continue giving him the care and companionship he deserves ❤

Introducing Zumi 🐰

Zumi is a friendly little rabbit with personality plus - and he's on the lookout for a lovely bunny wife!

After a rough start in life, Zumi is now ready to find an amazing bunny-savvy home where he can truly thrive. He would love plenty of space to zoom around, a large secure run, and ideally a desexed female bunny friend to bond with.

Like many rabbits, Zumi isn't a big fan of being picked up, but he's a sweet, social boy who enjoys gentle pats and being around his people.

Rabbits are intelligent, social pets that can live 8-10 years with proper care. They also require specialised vet care and yearly vaccinations, so we're looking for a committed home ready to give Zumi the wonderful life he deserves 🥰

📣 Puppies Before Profit – Bring in Breeder Laws! 📣

Today, we’re launching our Puppies Before Profit campaign, to raise awareness around New Zealand’s lack of dog breeding legislation and to build support for law reforms.

Currently, we’re FAR behind other countries when it comes to dog breeding laws. In New Zealand:

🐾 Anyone can breed and sell puppies
🐾 There are no restrictions on the number of breeding dogs a person can keep
🐾 There are no minimum supervision levels
🐾 There are no minimum or maximum ages for breeding
🐾 There are no maximum number of litters across a dog’s lifetime
🐾 There are no restrictions on close inbreeding.

Despite the current lack of specific rules, our recently commissioned survey found that 96% of New Zealanders think dog breeding should be regulated.

This isn’t a niche animal welfare issue. It’s something that New Zealanders deeply care about. We need clear, enforceable standards that apply to all breeders, and ensure every breeding dog receives appropriate care ❤️

Meet Sozin! ❤

Long ago, the four nations lived in harmony. Then Sozin arrived... and quietly hid behind the nearest cat tree.

Unlike his famous namesake, this little Sozin has no plans for world domination. In fact, he'd much rather rule a cozy blanket fort and maybe conquer a feather toy or two.

Like a young firebender learning to control his flame, Sozin's confidence grows a little more each day. He enjoys playing with toys, exploring his surroundings, and watching the world from a safe perch before deciding it's time to join the action.
