To most people, they’re just numbers. But to those who’ve sailed aboard the Spirit of Adventure Trust’s Spirit of New Zealand, those numbers represent a voyage filled with challenge, growth, friendships, and memories that last a lifetime.

Last week we had the privilege of listening to CDTCPL Wilmoth as he shared stories and experiences from his voyage, giving cadets an insight into the incredible opportunities the Spirit offers. From teamwork and leadership to stepping outside your comfort zone, it’s an experience that pushes you to grow in ways you never expect.

If you ever get the chance to go — take it. You’ll come back with more confidence, unforgettable memories, and stories you’ll still be telling years later ⚓️✨

This boot camp focused on the foundations — the small details, the basics, and the skills that everything else is built on. Understanding the basics gives us the ability to explore the biggest learning opportunities.

Levelled up 👏
Tonight our cadets were awarded their upgraded brassard badges, recognising the hard work, learning, and dedication they’ve shown throughout their training journey. Each badge represents new skills gained, challenges overcome, and another step forward in their development as cadets. Proud moment for everyone involved! ⭐

Tonight our NCOs led a focused session on dress, bearing, and compliments—breaking down what it means to look the part, carry yourself with confidence, and communicate with respect.

Cadets didn’t just listen—they got involved. Through group discussions and brainstorming, they shared ideas on how we can raise our standards even higher as a unit. From polishing the small details to building confidence in giving and receiving compliments, it’s all about growth.

Proud to see leadership in action and cadets striving to be their best. 👏

On Anzac Day, our cadets had the honour of laying wreaths following the civic service at the WW1 cenotaph.

Though this post comes a little later, the respect and gratitude remain just as strong. We remember the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who came before us.

Lest we forget.
