After a 6-year haerenga across 11 marae of Te Arawa, we are honoured to celebrate the launch of Te Reo o Te Kuia — a taonga that carries the voices, wisdom, and aroha of our kuia into the future.
This pukapuka is more than words on a page. It is the voice of the kuia directly to our mokopuna, a reminder of where we come from, the whenua and awa that continue to sustain us, and the tikanga, values and beliefs woven together like a korowai to wrap around our tamariki as they walk through this world.
These are the wāhine who lived in the 20th century, who passed in the 21st, and whose voices will still be heard by the mokopuna of 2124.
"Hei aha noa mate ai au, ko aku pākārito ka tupu"
Don't worry about me dying, I live on through my mokopuna.
