We're hosting our first sunrise walk in Queenstown on Sat 24th Oct! Walk Into Light will kick off at 7am at Lakes Hayes Pavilion where we'll enjoy a very chill 5km walk along the track, with stops to discover the plants, birdlife and wider ecosystem around us.

Absolutely everyone is welcome - come alone or with friends or whānau (dogs v much encouraged!!) - and we’ll finish with morning tea and activities at Lake Hayes Pavilion afterwards.

We'd love to see you there and hope this can become a staple in the Queenstown calendar to help us all connect a bit more with the amazing nature and people around us.

KiwiHarvest Queenstown & Central Lakes makes it genuinely possible, even if you rent, have a tiny balcony, or have absolutely no idea what you're doing. (Especially then, actually 🌱)

KiwiHarvest Queenstown & Central Lakes is handing out free veggie-growing kits to households across Queenstown, Wānaka and Cromwell. That's the planter, compost, seedlings, the self-watering system, and a local gardening mentor to share their green thumbs with you through the first season.

ADAPTING TO A NEW CULTURE
Some of our community members share how they adapted to a new country and culture in New Zealand.

Rika says: "Kiwi English was very new to me and I had difficulties to understand. I lost all confidence speaking English, that I may use the wrong words or misunderstand the question . . . especially on the phone. It's still challenging every day . . . still now after six years."

So we are incredibly impressed that Rika (in fact, all our story-tellers) volunteered to be interviewed and share their story on behalf of other people experiencing similar things 💚
