This Sunday, The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever Pōneke is taking over the SoundShell at the Wellington Botanic Garden, with Wellingtonians of all ages coming together to recreate Kate Bush's iconic Wuthering Heights dance.

We're excited to let you know that we are once again able to offer furniture and large donation pick-ups plus estates, along with furniture deliveries, thanks to a wonderful new volunteer who has joined our team.

To make the most of this service, pick-ups and deliveries will be available on Mondays and Thursdays by appointment in advance.

If you have quality furniture or larger items you'd like to donate, we'd love to hear from you. Every donation helps us raise funds to support Hato Hone St John in our community.

Mānawatia a Matariki.

Māori believe that appearance of Matariki in the morning sky in mid-winter marks the Māori New Year, or Te Mātahi o te Tau. It signals a time to remember those who have passed, celebrate the present and plan for the future. It’s a time to spend with whānau and friends – to enjoy kai (food), waiata (song), tākaro (games) and haka.

We will be closed Friday 10th to honour this day 💛

Introducing our fabulous Store Manager, Donna 💛

Donna has been managing our Petone store for the past five months, and she is loving every day! Before joining our team, she had worked in the op shop world and also spent many years with the Ministry of Justice.

Donna has a wonderful husband, two fabulous grown children, and two very-loved cats.

What does Donna love most about her role?

"It doesn't feel like a job – I enjoy it so much. I love working alongside our volunteers (and we'd always love to welcome a few more to the team!) and being part of this amazing community.

I really enjoy merchandising and keeping our store looking its best, with as much fresh variety as we can put out each day. Our goal is to make every visit feel new, with plenty of well-priced treasures to discover.

I love the vibe of our store – the laughter, the chats, and the joy of being part of something that makes a difference." 💛
