Here we are at the end of July and we have heard that we now have all the meats being donated. A huge thankyou goes to Mel and Eddie of Mels Catering and to Paeroa Lions. Knowing that we have these covered has taken all stress away from this years Community Christmas Luncheon on Christmas day.

Items we can start collecting are:
Bottles of Lemonade
Bottles of juice
Tins of fruit for fruit salad

Volunteer helpers for prep and setup on 24th December

Volunteer helpers on 25th to help with last minute prep and serving.

Volunteer helpers on 25th and 26th for clean up.

This will be our last Christmas Luncheon in the Paeroa Racecourse Lounge it will be special.

Paeroa Community Christmas Day Luncheon at the Paeroa Racecourse.

I received a message today that has blown me away.
Our Christmas Hams and Legs of Lamb, are being donated, that is going to cost an arm and a leg. Buying early and waiting for specials is one way to go.

As you all know the Paeroa Community Christmas Luncheon is put on purely by donations from our community.

Please start thinking how you can help out, either with groceries (list coming out soon) I suggest buy one item with your own household grocery's. Or Maybe you may like to donate $5, $10, maybe $20 towards the costs involved.

I also need a handy collection point in town where goods can be dropped off. If anyone knows of somewhere.

For everyone wondering, yes we are starting to get into gear to prepare for our Paeroa Community Christmas Luncheon on Christmas Day.
It will be held at the Paeroa Racecourse as in last 4 years.
Very shortly I will be listing what is going to be required. As in previous years this Luncheon is put on purely by donations from our fabulous community. So please start adding that extra can of fruit or anything non perishable, drink etc to your groceries each time you do a shop.
Think about if you are available to volunteer on the day or possibly the day before for preparing everything.
Many hands make light work.

Is anyone available to help out Friday 13th Feb from 3pm until approx 8pm
Paeroa Racecourse .
We have campervans arriving to stay a night or two to attend Paeroa Highland Games on Sat 14th.
Possibly one or two volunteers can divide time in a couple of shifts.
Unfortunately I need to be at Auckland Airport otherwise I would be looking after the parking.

A huge thankyou must go to everyone who helped out with the Paeroa Community Christmas Luncheon yesterday at the Paeroa Racecourse.
The ladies in the kitchen, without you we couldn't have done it. You were instrumental in organising the kitchen, receiving the food preparing it to be dished up and serving with a smile.
To the helpers on the 24th, setting up the tables and chairs getting all the catering equipment in place all ready for Christmas Day and today to Mike, Ian and Bob along with Barry for the clean up.
It was a huge ask of everyone and working together I can say we did it. We had 120 come in for a meal and delivered 29 meals a mammoth effort for our little group. Merry Christmas everyone.

Merry Christmas everyone, a big ask, would anyone be free to help deliver some meals tomorrow, Christmas Day. We have 24 meals to deliver around Paeroa.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Tomorrow Wednesday 24th is prep day at the for our Paeroa Community Christmas Luncheon at the old Paeroa Racecourse.
Any one who is available to help we will be there from 9am. Hopefully finished by lunchtime.

Wednesday 24th December at Paeroa Racecourse is prep day. Starting at 9:30am.
We have tables to organize, a room to set up.
Vegetables to prep.
Hopefully finished by midday.
The more people able to help would be fabulous.

Ten days to go, so much to do between now and December 25th.
What do we still need?
2-3 large bags of potatoes
3-4 large pumpkins
Plus approx a large box of kumera.

If anyone or any business able to donate any of the about it will be much appreciated by all.

Please book ASAP if you are wanting to have Christmas lunch with us. We still have about 20 spaces.
