National Food Bank Day is on Friday 4th September

If your business, club or organisation wants to support us, we'd love to have you on board.

How to take part:

🟢 Run a collection at your workplace, school or group on Friday 4th September

🟢Tell your people to bring one item of:
Rice, pasta, canned veges, canned fruit, canned fish, pasta sauce, baked beans, spaghetti, biscuits, crackers, muesli bars, long-life or powdered milk, tea, coffee, Marmite, peanut butter, jam.

🟢Drop donations to the Paeroa Community Support Trust the following week between 7–11 September, 10am–2pm

Winter is when things start to ramp up for the Paeroa Neighbours Foodbank.
Not only is it the coldest time of year, it’s also their busiest season with more demand for emergency food parcels than any other time of year.
That’s why the foodbank is putting out the call for supporters to help top up its shelves. Since January 1 until June 30 this year, the foodbank has given away 203 emergency food parcels which fed 332 adults and 223 children.

We're grateful for everyone who supports Paeroa Neighbours Foodbank throughout the year. To our volunteers, our donors, Paeroa Community Support Trust and the wider Paeroa community who make sure no one goes without.

𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗸𝗶 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 - 11th July

This one's happening right on our doorstep. Mackay Street is closed on Saturday afternoon to make space for tables, people and food for a Matariki dinner.

Organised by Paeroa Business Association, with support from Maritime Park Paeroa and Hauraki District Council, this is a bring your own kai, come as you are evening to mark Matariki together as a community.

Saturday 11 July 2026, from 4pm, right here on Mackay Street.

Bring your own kai (to enjoy or to share), your own plates and utensils. Tables are provided. It's an alcohol-free event, open to everyone.

A great chance for some kai, kōrero, and whakawhānaungatanga right in the heart of Paeroa.

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗚𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗹

We're in the process of applying for funding to help cover groceries for the next 12 months. In the meantime, every donation helps us keep parcels going out the door.

Here's what financial donations looks like:
$20 helps tide a family over for a meal when the cupboard's bare
$50 helps cover the basics for a few days when things are tight
$100 helps provide relief for a family with kai on the table needing to get through the week

We do the shopping ourselves, so every dollar donated goes directly into the food parcels that reach local whānau.

If you've got spare paper bags lying around from your grocery shop, we could really use them.

We use them to pack food parcels, and we're running low.

Winter is one of our busiest times, and a few extra items in your trolley can make a real difference. Here's what would help most right now:

🔸 Tinned vegetables, fish, and baked beans
🔸 Pasta and rice
🔸 Soup mixes and soup starters
🔸 Breakfast cereal
🔸 Long-life milk
🔸 Marmite, Peanut butter and jam

A warm meal matters even more when the weather turns and soup mixes are always especially appreciated this time of year.
