We are looking forward to our Omarama Talking Cafe on Monday, which will be our last one for 2026.
We are fortunate to have Rochell bringing her mobile shop up to Omarama, and this is a great opportunity to stock up on resources that support independent living. You might grab a gift or two for Christmas presents 😀

This will be worth signing up for.
I received some great spam emails over the weekend from NZTA - very convincing but I knew how to spot the scam!
Make sure you learn how to do the same.

Think you can spot a scam?

AI is helping scammers create more convincing emails, text messages, phone calls, and fake websites, making scams harder to spot than ever.

On Tuesday 6 October from 1pm-2pm, join us for a practical webinar where we'll explore the cyber security basics that can help you stay safe online in today's AI-driven world.

You'll learn how to spot common scams, recognise the warning signs of phishing attempts, create stronger passwords, protect your personal information, and respond confidently if something doesn't seem right.

Have a parent, grandparent, whānau member or tūpuna who could benefit from learning these skills too? Share this webinar with them or join together.

Such an important skill to learn.

❤️ Could You Help Save Someone's Life?

A cardiac arrest can happen without warning, and in those critical first few minutes, the actions of an ordinary person can make an extraordinary difference.

It could be your partner, your parent, your grandparent, your friend — or even a stranger who happens to be nearby.

Knowing how to start CPR and use a defibrillator could mean the difference between life and death while you wait for emergency services to arrive. You don’t need to be a medical professional. You just need to know what to do.

That’s why Neighbourhood Support is partnering with Hato Hone St John to offer free, practical 45-minute training sessions at The Business Hive, supporters of this event.

If you’ve done the training before, come along for a refresher. If you haven’t, this is your chance to learn a skill that you may one day be incredibly grateful you have.

And with the school holidays, bring the children too. Imagine your child being with a grandparent when a cardiac arrest happens — knowing what to do could give them the confidence to act.

You may never need this skill, but if you do, you'll be pleased you made the effort to come. ❤️

No booking required — just turn up at the session that suits you, on Friday 2 October at The Business Hive 120 Thames Street, 10.30am, 12.15 and 3.30pm.
