Oamaru Community Shuttle now has service through to Dunedin on Thursdays and Saturdays. Depart Oamaru at 9am and 1:30pm, depart Dunedin at 10:30 and 3:30. (Times are approximate.) Stops outside New World Centre City.
Fares are $5 each way until the end of the 6-month trial, donations toward fuel costs appreciated.
Pickup also available at Maheno, Herbert, Hampden, Moeraki, Palmerston.
This service is for all age groups, great for those who don't drive, those who don't want to deal with parking, school holiday outings, and more. Connect to locations across Dunedin using the local bus - the shuttle driver will give you a BEE card for the buses.

A high of 19C in Dunedin for the first of our Saturday (21st March) direct to Dunedin Runs.

Not too hot for a day of shopping and sightseeing.

Book early to avoid missing out on the few remaining seats.

Be aware - the new parking meters require you to enter your plate number, even if you are using the 1-hour free parking.

By replacing the machines, Council wants to ensure a turnover of parking spaces within the town, and ensure parking users, locals and tourists, support the maintenance of the car parks.

Council will hold another session soon at the Ōamaru Library about how to use the new meters.

There will be no changes to the 1-hour free parking in the Oamaru CBD until the February 17 Council meeting when further consideration of the issue will be made.

Schedule and fares for the shuttle trial, running between Oamaru and Palmerston (both directions), with connection to the Dunedin Orbus. Service starts on Tuesday 4th November, bookings available now.

From the Oamaru-Palmerston Shuttle group. Information meeting at the Brydone this Monday, 29th September at 4pm. All welcome. In addition to the St. John hospital shuttle which is starting up in the next couple of months - a separate project - we have received funding for a shuttle trial running from Oamaru to Palmerston, to meet the Dunedin bus. We plan to run a round-trip shuttle once a day, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and we are looking for volunteer drivers and volunteers behind the scenes. We are looking to build a large volunteer group to ensure that we spread the load. :) We will listen to feedback over the six months to find the best setup for this transport route.
