The countdown is on! Our **Te Ringa Hāpai Pathways Pilot Programme** begins on **Monday, 24 August**, and we still have spaces available**.

This morning we had another really encouraging kōrero with someone exploring their next steps. Hearing people say they want to be part of this kaupapa reminds us why we started Te Ringa Hāpai Pathways in the first place.

If you've been feeling stuck, looking for direction, wanting support into employment, training, or simply a fresh start, this could be your opportunity.

This isn't just another course.

It is a journey built around **people, relationships, identity, confidence, wellbeing, and employment**, walking alongside you as you discover your own pathway.

Our pilot is intentionally small so we can provide genuine support to each participant.

📅 **Starts:** Monday, 24 August 2026
📍 **Location:** Kaikohe
👥 **Spaces Remaining:**

If you've been thinking about it, now is the time to reach out.

Send us a message through our page, email us, or give us a call for a confidential kōrero. There is no obligation—just a chance to see whether Te Ringa Hāpai Pathways is the right fit for you.

Could this be your next step?

Te Ringa Hapai Pathways (TRHP) is preparing to welcome participants into our inaugural TRHP Pilot Programme beginning 24 August in Kaikohe.

Grounded in the journey Te Kore - Te Po - Te Ao Marama, this 8 week pilot has been thoughtfully designed to support people who are ready to strengthen their confidence, discover their strengths, build practical skills, and explore pathways into employment, training or further education.

At TRHP we believe in preparing the person before preparing the pathway. Our focus is on walking alongside people building confidence, creating meaningful connections, and supporting each person to take positive steps towards their future.

We currently have a small number of places remaining in our inaugural pilot programme.

If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, or someone you know, we'd love to start with a korero.

As this is a pilot programme, every expression of interest begins with a friendly conversation to ensure the programme is the right fit for both you and TRHP.

Please send us a private message via our FB page to arrange a friendly korero or to find out more.

E kore au e ngaro, he kakano i ruia mai i Rangiatea
I will never be lost, for I am a seed sown from Rangiatea.

Together we prepare the person before we prepare the pathway.

A few months ago, Te Ringa Hāpai Pathways was just an idea.

A vision.

A belief that there could be a different way to support wellbeing, training, and employment pathways within our community.

Since then there have been many highs, challenges, lessons, conversations, and moments of growth.

Today, that idea has become a real organisation.

We now have governance, a bank account, an IRD number, a programme framework, community relationships, and a pilot programme preparing for delivery.

Taking time to reflect reminds me that every journey starts somewhere.

For me, it began with an idea and the courage to take the first step.

If there is something you have been thinking about, dreaming about, or wanting to create, don't underestimate what is possible.

I turned an idea into a real organisation.

You can too.

Nga mihi nui to Kate Liddington and whanau from Waipapa for the generous gift of a box full of fresh mandarins.

Your kindness and thoughfulness are truly appreciated. It is these simple acts of generosity and community spirit that remind us how fortunate we are to be surrounded by people who genuinely care and support one another.

Thank you for thinking of Te Ringa Hapai Pathways. The mandarins will certainly be enjoyed and shared.

Nga mihi aroha

Today, Te Ringa Hāpai Pathways had the opportunity to present a verbal submission at the Far North District Council Chambers regarding future community use of the current Kaikohe Library building once it relocates.

Our submission focused on the potential for community spaces to support wellbeing, training, employment readiness, digital inclusion, and pathways to opportunity for local whānau.

It was encouraging to hear a range of perspectives shared throughout the morning, including aspirations for rangatahi, hapū and iwi-led initiatives, and wider community development. What stood out most was the shared desire to see community assets continue to serve the people of Kaikohe and Hokianga in meaningful and positive ways.

We would like to acknowledge everyone who took the time to speak and contribute to the discussion. Strong communities are built through participation, collaboration, and respectful kōrero.

Regardless of the outcome, we are grateful for the opportunity to be part of the conversation and to advocate for pathways that support whānau to reconnect with confidence, skills, opportunity, and wellbeing.

What a beautiful evening spent connecting with our rangatahi and wider community at the Taiohi Youth Event.

One of the most powerful parts of the night was seeing rangatahi engage with our Te Kore → Te Pō → Te Ao Mārama dream boards — sharing their thoughts, aspirations, challenges, hopes, and future goals through our own mātauranga Māori framework.

It was incredibly humbling hearing how naturally many connected with the journey from darkness, growth, and learning through to light, clarity, and future aspirations.

We also had the opportunity to connect with some amazing people and organisations doing important mahi across our community. There were some valuable kōrero around rangatahi transition pathways, continuity of support, wellbeing, employment, and the importance of relationship-based support systems for our people.

Thank you to everyone who stopped, shared whakaaro, contributed to the boards, and took the time to kōrero with us. These connections remind us how important collaboration, community, and kaupapa-driven support truly are.

He waka eke noa — we are all in this together.

Ngā mihi nui,
Te Ringa Hāpai Pathways
