Join our Team! We are looking for a Senior Coordinator, to be the Connector at Hope Rising Farm Charitable Trust.
A place where mentors, the farm environment and ponies help children, youth and women who’ve faced hardship, find confidence and hope again. This four day (32 hour) role is a mix of getting out into the community and keeping things running well. Around 70% of your time will be spent establishing great relationships and nurturing current ones with supporters, funders, and community partners. The other 30% is about supporting our team and helping our programmes run smoothly on our farm —Based just out of Ngaruawahia. Do you know someone between 8 and 18 that has had a hard time in life and could do with a confidence boost or maybe suffering from high anxiety?
At Hope Rising we work hard to create an environment that's fun to learn in, try new things and to experience our small farm. Our ponies enjoy forming partnerships with our students and are non judgemental. They accept a person as they are, allowing for our students true personalities to emerge and sometimes for the emotional and mental walls to come down, at the same time engaging all the senses.

We love to get feedback! Here is one of our favourites.
“At home its way calmer and me mum is a lot less stressed having not to diffuse my son (7 years) which could take up to a hour even longer. We’ve had little to no outbursts since we’ve started at Hope Rising and my young boy now has positive ways of coping at home when he needs it which has been a tremendous help for us as a whole family. I have also seen his confidence skyrocket and he's now open to doing new things that would of previously made him scared and not participate and then further upset and angry with explosive tantrums. I really can't express enough gratitude for the work the mentors put into my son. I am beyond proud of his improvements thanks to them both. They welcomed us both into their safe and non-judgemental arms and they have given us something we’ve been looking for and wanting for a very long time". Parent.

Do you know a child or youth that needs a confidence boost or needing to learn some life skills? Maybe someone that has had a difficult time with anxiety or needs a self esteem pick-me- up? No experience around ponies required. We have experienced Mentors that walk with our students, as they experience farm activities, and learn from our ponies. Our Mentors are encouraging, fun loving, patient, and supportive! We are taking bookings for Term 2! Email Bethany our awesome Programme Co-Ordinator at [email protected].

Well last Monday we managed to get approximately 380 hay bales into our haybarn! Massive thank you to Mark, Jeanette, Steve, Anton, Kent, Andrew, Andy, Mike, Allen, Teao and Hinrech for their hard yakka in the boiling sun! Special thanks to Abby and Alexia who supplied yummy muffins, quiche, pizza for all our workers! Events like this always take a team working together and we are especially grateful that after 4 previous failed attempts (because either the cut grass was damp or it was actually raining) we finally got the job done!

Sometimes you just have to find a way to deal with the heat and cool your feet. This is the smallest of our equine team, Maxi who would probably be happy to jump all the way in!

We need some help!! We been donated about 400 bales of hay and have 200 ready NOW to be picked up on Monday (9th) in the morning at 10 am. We may have another pick up at 4pm. Rain is forecast in the evening so its rather urgent. Help with either of these times would be greatly appreciated and a vehicle and trailer would be even better. Food and drink provided and a cool group of people to work with! If you can help or know someone that can please get in touch asap! .
