You will experience The Gorge like it's your own private bike park. After a briefing from the Gorge Crew, we will shuttle you from the valley floor to the start of our trail network at close to, 1000m elevation. Here you will find our day lodge (Irvine's) which we pass on every lap you do. Drinking water, BBQ, fridge and toilets are available as well as unlimited coffee to keep you going for the d
ay! There is no timetable, so you can relax and really explore the park, we run revolving shuttles from 8.30 to the last uplift at 3pm. You will find numbered routes from top to bottom so you no longer have to remember multiple trail names, just check the descriptions/grades and make your choice depending on what you feel like riding. Our friendly Crew will also be on hand to help with route selection if you need it! The Wairoa Gorge is a non-profit organisation and run by the Nelson MTB club. The land is leased to the NMTBC from DOC which means members of the Nelson Mountain bike club get discounted Gorge riding. Join the club and get some more great deals around Nelson on food/ fuel/gear. Our trails are maintained by a few of volunteers who are passionate about keeping The Gorge in tip-top condition. If you want to join the volunteers, then get in touch via the link on our webpage! The ultimate weekend at The Gorge is completed with a night or two stays in one of our epic accommodations:
