What an epic weekend for Rakaia, Mill Creek, Tinwald, and Methven pony clubs - who pulled off a truly outstanding Springston Trophy 2026. Hosting this event is no small mission, and the level of organisation, teamwork, and sheer hard work that went into it was nothing short of phenomenal.

The cross‑country course in Rakaia was absolutely world‑class, and the talent on display from the riders was incredible to watch. As sponsors, the Methven Rodeo Club couldn’t be prouder to stand behind such a dedicated group.

A massive congratulations to everyone involved — riders, supporters, and the army of volunteers who made it all happen. Thank you for having us on board and congratulations!

🚛 SPONSOR SHOWCASE | Philip Wareing Ltd 🚛

Another business that needs little introduction around here – Philip Wareing Ltd.

Today their services span agricultural spraying, fertiliser spreading, bulk and general cartage, livestock transport, logging, freight and more.

Just as impressive is the support the Wareing family continues to give back to our local community, including their longstanding support of the Methven Rodeo Club.

🍻 SPONSOR SHOWCASE | Methven Pubs – The Brown & The Blue 🍻

It wouldn’t be Methven without Brown Pub Methven and Bluepub Methven

We are very lucky to once again have Methven Pubs – The Brown Pub and The Blue Pub supporting the R&R Precision Spreading Methven Rodeo.

Sitting on opposite corners right in the heart of Methven, these two iconic local pubs are a big part of our town, welcoming locals and visitors alike and getting behind so many of the events that make Methven such a great place to live and visit.

The Brown Pub is your classic local, a relaxed bar, family restaurant and b**r garden, accommodation and Methven Liquor all in one spot. Known for a good pub meal, a cold drink and plenty of familiar faces, it’s a firm favourite with locals.

Across the road, The Blue Pub is one of Methven’s best-known landmarks. With its bar and restaurant, accommodation, regular live music and Samuel’s Bar & Venue, it has long been a hub for entertainment and events in our town.

Together, the Brown and Blue play a huge part in Methven’s hospitality scene and are fantastic supporters of our wider community.

We are incredibly grateful to have Methven Pubs continuing to get behind the Methven Rodeo Club. The support of local businesses like these makes a massive difference to our event and helps us put on the day that we do each Labour Weekend.

A huge thank you to the teams at the Brown and the Blue for your continued support – we really appreciate having you behind us!

Make sure you support the businesses that support our rodeo, and call in for a meal or a drink next time you’re in town. 🍻
