What an awesome day at the Kai Puku hub! 🀩
We spent the day sausage making with the rangatahi from the Poutini Waiora - Ko Wai Au programme, guided by our amazing Hokitika mentors Rebecca Thompson and Wayne Jones.
The rangatahi learned the full process: sorting meat, mincing, preparing casings, and making the final product.
There was tons of laughter, learning, and genuine interest in mastering this hands-on home skill.
After taste tests confirmed they were delicious, the rangatahi took sausages home for their whānau to try!
Ko Wai Au, Facilitator, Nelly Mason noted that the workshop added another valuable skill to their growing kete/knowledge basket.
πŸ“’πŸ˜Another big mihi/thank-you out to the New Zealand Food Network for supplying the meat to make this happen!
