Every Child Deserves Tomorrow.

This August we're highlighting one of Lions' Global Causes β€” Childhood Cancer, as it is Cancer Appeal Month in NZ.

Every child deserves the chance to laugh, learn, dream and grow. Around the world, Lions Clubs support children and families affected by childhood cancer through practical assistance, awareness, research and hope.

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Brian McLennan, a respected and much-loved member of both the South Westland Lions Club and, in later years, the Lions Club of Hokitika.

Brian truly embodied the Lions motto, β€œWe Serve.” He was always willing to lend a hand, quietly getting on with whatever needed doing, never seeking recognition but always making a difference. Whether it was supporting club projects, helping at events, or welcoming members into his home to host dinner meetings, Brian’s generosity and hospitality were deeply appreciated by all who knew him.

Brian’s friendship, kindness, and unwavering commitment to serving others have left a lasting legacy within our clubs and throughout the community. He will be remembered not only for what he did, but for the warmth, humour, and genuine care he showed to everyone around him.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Brian’s wife Lion Raewyn, family and loved ones at this difficult time.

Rest in peace, Brian. Thank you for your service, your friendship, and the many lives you touched. You will be greatly missed.

🦁 A great day at Pragnells Shed!

Today our Lions volunteers rolled up their sleeves to tidy, organise, stocktake and improve our storage, getting our house in order so we can better serve our community.

A huge thank you to everyone who gave their time and effort. Teamwork like this is what Lions Club of Hokitika is all about.

We Serve. πŸ’™πŸ’›
