Come along and check out our Playcentre and ask us any questions that you may have, while letting your little ones play, explore and have fun!

Our local Plunket Carseat Technician will be joining us for the morning if anyone has any queries on carseats or need a fit check or installation, she is more than happy to help 😀

Reminders of what’s in & what’s on!

Monday: 10am, coffee group, have also turned this into abit of a breakfast club, as busy parents we forget to keep our self fed and watered so thought that was a perfect opportunity to add that in ☕️🥄 We do have a chat for this so if you want to be added in to keep up with what’s going on around this please comment or message me privately it’s easier to have the chat then have so many individual messages 🙂

Tuesday: I will be attending “The Vine” your host:Family Start West Coast will be held at WESTREAP in blaketown, a chance to pop in while other organisations are together and find out what is on offer, see poster below/They also have an event coming up in AUGUST/The Vine Community Outreach, fun free day out for the kids while parents take in what services are on offer and connect with local organisations-I’ll be there representing plunket, have attached poster for this too.

Wednesday: 10am, HOKITIKA coffee group. This is also chat based of knowing what’s happening with that so same goes if you want to be added in comment or message ☕️

Thursday: Paroa Play-centre open day, You will find me on site for any car seat needs 🚙

Reminder there is a FREE area in the building, clothing and other things that come in, also have beautiful knitwear come in for winter from talented Kiwi Family Trust blankets, jackets, cardigans, socks, beanies you name it! If there is something certain in need feel free to message and we can see what we can sort out in the community for you.

Definitely worth checking this out in Hokitika on Saturday! Looks like West Coast Multicultural Council Te Tai o Poutini have put some amazing mahi into this event 🧡

Helmets help protect tamariki from injury as they are learning to explore on wheels. This handy 2-4-1 rule makes sure your child’s head is protected every time they ride their bike, trike or scooter.



Bonus tip: Your child’s helmet needs to be the right size for their head, not one they will grow into.

It can be hard for drivers to see little children on or near roads. Dress them in bright clothes (or better yet, pop on a high-vis vest) to help drivers notice them.



Tamariki aren’t as road-savvy as we are. Here are some bonus tips to keep them safe:

🛣 Teach them to stick to you like glue on roads, carparks and footpaths

👀 Remind them to stop, look and listen before crossing roads or driveways

🚨 Keep an eye out for ‘sneaky’ driveways – they aren’t always obvious
