Remembrance Day - NZ Police
29 September 2025

Police Remembrance Day is held every year on 29 September, the feast day of the Archangel Michael, the Patron Saint of Police.
Each year a national Service is held to honour Police colleagues in New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific, who have been killed by criminal acts while performing their official duties, or died as a result of their duties, as well as serving, retired and former New Zealand Police staff who have passed away in the preceding 12 months.
The national service is held at The Royal New Zealand Police College (RNZPC) and a number of local services will be also be held across New Zealand.
Police officers killed by criminal acts while performing their official duties are remembered in the Roll of Honour read out at each Service. Their service and commitment to the New Zealand Police is remembered and honoured.

The national Remembrance Day service held at the RNZPC will be livestreamed on the New Zealand Police page, and the New Zealand Police Museum page.
The livestream will be recorded and will remain on the pages to watch after the service.
