Our weekly parkrun events simply cannot happen without a willing team of volunteers and some parkruns have been forced to cancel events due to insufficient core team members. Tasks are simple, easy to learn and very rewarding. There are a number of roles you can undertake and also get to walk or run the course itself, earning yourself both a volunteer credit and a parkrun credit. It's also really important to share the load so that our regular volunteers get a chance to complete the event too. There will always be support on hand to show you want to do and we encourage everyone to give it a go. πŸ₯°

If you'd love to volunteer, tell your friends, bring along your family or chat to the Run Director on the day. Give back even 3 times a year and you help keep our event safe. We still have a few spaces on the roster for our next event #29 on 20th June and event #30 on 27th June. Comment below or email us at [email protected]

Let's share the love - we couldn't do it without them. β€οΈπŸ§‘πŸ’›πŸ’œπŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ©·πŸ©΅πŸ©ΆπŸ€

πŸ₯³ Milestone Monday πŸ₯³

Today we celebrate another two of our parkrun locals who reached the first significant milestone of their respective parkrun journeys on Saturday 🀩

✨ Pete de Joux completed his 25th parkrun! πŸ’œ Like several others, he joined the parkrun family at our inaugural event in November 2025 and has now run our course 21 times. He has also completed other parkrun courses in Alexandra, Christchurch and Timaru. He volunteers as well, helping out with Event Day Course Check and being a Course Marshal. Congratulations Pete - a fantastic achievement and we look forward to seeing you sporting your well earned milestone t-shirt in due course! πŸ₯³πŸ’œ

✨ Congratulations also to Rachael Klahn who completed her 10th volunteer stint undertaking Tail Walker duties on Saturday. Huge thanks for your valuable contribution and your ever cheery smile Rachael! πŸ₯³πŸ¦ΊπŸ¦Ί

πŸ“· If you reach a milestone, please make sure you see our Run Director for a photo or send a photo to us. 😊 We love sharing and celebrating your achievements. 🀩

How good is this! πŸ₯° Why not come along this weekend and be part of this magic milestone!

1 million parkrun events. Sounds crazy, right? 🀯

This weekend, we’ll hit that incredible milestone.

A million events delivered shows parkrun is more than a 5k or 2k. It’s shared mornings, encouragement, and a community that turns up week after week.

Thanks a million 🫢
