Hi Everyone, I am so sorry but I am going to have to go home to bed apparently even the expensive cold and flu tablets aren't enough to keep me awake. I am working in my little office at the World Gold Panning champs it is noisy and busy so answering the phone is difficult. All members of the Otago Goldfields Heritage Trust can enter on October 1st, while non-members can only enter on October 14th.

Locals know about it - and the chat around town is that some trails will sell out fast (we even have our finger poised to enter bang on Oct 1).

Don’t be left to bash it out with everyone else on the 14th; become a member for your best chance of getting into the 2027 Goldfields Cavalcade to Tarras.

The mountains are calling! We are all very excited at Tarras to welcome you to the 2027 Tarras Goldfields Cavalcade.

We put up a drone a few days ago to show you ‘Ground Zero,' where you’ll all converge at the end of your trail - smack bang in the middle of town on State Highway 8, heading into the Lindis.

The first thing you will notice is that Tarras sits in a natural amphitheatre of ranges, including the Dunstan Mountains, Lindis Pass and the St Bathans Ranges.

Our mountains stretch for miles, which explains why Shrek, the famous sheep, was able to escape notice for so long!

All of this means you are guaranteed awesomeness as a trail participant, with plenty of highs and lows, literally.

👉The dates are Feb 27 to March 6, 2027, with the Grand Finale coming into Tarras.
