In March this year I organised my first Amazing Race on horse back, during the clean up I had a fall from my horse resulting in me needing the rescue helicopter to fly me to Dunedin hospital, during my recovery I have been planning another amazing event and as a way of giving back have decided to make it a fundraiser. The Mclean family have kindly allowed me to use Lowburn station once again to ho

ld the event. Saturdays event is based off the television program The Amazing Race, participants are randomly split into teams of 3 and follow a set course around Lowburn station completing tasks on and off their mounts. Sunday is the gymkahana (mounted games) in the morning sticking to your team from the previous day, in the afternoon the games will be individual.

Here are the logistics for the weekend

Friday

4 pm gates open for weekend camping please contact me if you wish to arrive earlier. Camp facilities available

-limited potable water
If you wish to wash down your horse /pony there is a creek.

5-7 pm BBQ EATS AND BEATS at the Carrick vineyard 247 Cairnmuir Rd $35 per person for the bbq food or pizza menu available

Saturday (by the woolshed)

8am Registration opens

9am briefing and map handout

9.25 Horses will depart
9.30 Remaining entrants depart

3.25 Horses finish
3.30 event finishes

4pm approx PRIZEGIVING and spot prizes

Sunday

Sundays map is the same as Saturday so for those who rode the day before that don’t wish to do the event again Anne and Gav Hogg have kindly organised a 3/4 hours ride. Riders will leave at 9am meet up point will be though the gate and waiting on the track behind the 2 containers with an arched cover between.
