🏌️‍♂️ Par 4 A Better Future – Supporting Our Community 💙

This year, Par 4 A Better Future is proud to support De Paul House, who are building a brand-new housing complex in Birkdale. This development will provide nine affordable, stable homes for families, seniors, and those experiencing homelessness — including one home designed specifically for people with disabilities. With construction on track for completion in June/July 2026, these homes will offer a fresh start for those who need it most.

North Shore Rotary is committed to helping make these houses feel like homes from day one. Funds raised will go towards essential household items — from kitchen appliances like jugs, toasters, and air fryers, to bedding, towels, and other everyday comforts. For many of these families, this support will make a meaningful difference as they begin again.

Since 1986, De Paul House has supported over 1,700 families — and together, we can continue that impact.

📅 Join us on 7th May 2026 in Huapai for a fantastic day of golf, connection, and community spirit — all while supporting an incredibly worthy cause.

👉 Get involved, bring a team, or support in any way you can — we’d love to have you with us!

Donation to Special Olympic Hopeful - Ross Wadsworth

At Monday’s Rotary meeting, we were proud to present a donation to our associate member Ross Wadsworth, supporting his journey in Boccia as he works towards his goal of competing at the Special Olympics. Ross thanked the club for its generous support, sharing insight into the remarkable nature of his sport.

Living with cerebral palsy, Ross competes using a specialised ramp and communicates entirely non-verbally with his carers, directing each shot with subtle eye movements while they face away from the court, an incredible display of trust, precision, and teamwork. With upcoming competitions in Tauranga and later national events in Christchurch, we look forward to following Ross’s progress and will keep members updated through our Rotary channels.

North Shore Rotary has recently donated $4,000 to The Forest Bridge Trust through funds raised from the sale of kauri trees, which have now been planted at Mataia 🌳

650 kauri trees are now in the ground, many purchased by someone who wanted to leave a lasting legacy.

Rotary North Shore is now working to provide every tree owner with GPS coordinates, so that they will be able to visit their tree and watch it grow for years to come.

It’s not too late to purchase your own Kauri, find out more about this wonderful project - https://www.rotarynorthshore.nz/legatree/

We are actively looking for planting sites for our Auckland Trees for Survival schools for the 2026 planting season!

We are looking for rural landowners across the Auckland region to host a schools yearly planting day and help support students to make a positive difference to the environment.

Are you keen to restore your land with native plants raised and nurtured by a local school? Do you have an environmentally at-risk stream, erosion prone slopes or land to retire?

Find out more and register your interest on our website https://www.tfsnz.org.nz/landowners/

Amazing work by our club member Sean.

Each year the North Shore Rotary ‘Drive 4 Life’ Golf Tournament raises money for Well Foundation, the official charity of North Shore Hospital. This year, funds raised will go towards an ultrasound training machine, called an Ultrasound Mentor in the Obstetrics department, to support ongoing education for both senior and junior doctors and midwives at North Shore Hospital. This training tool will ultimately benefit every woman of childbearing age in our region, ensuring they can access the very best care when they need it most. Each year, between 11,000 and 15,000 expectant mothers in our community will directly benefit through safer pregnancies, earlier detection of complications, and greater peace of mind for them and their families.
