A huge malo and vinaka vakalevu to 531pi radio presenter Carolanne Toetu'u for having our very own Fijian artist Paulini Bautani on your show.
On behalf of Team Vakabauta, we truly cannot thank you enough for giving Paulini the opportunity to share her journey, experiences, music and passion with every listener and follower of your show.
This means so much to our Fijian artist, and we are incredibly grateful for the platform and support you have shown her.
Paulini Bautani is a prominent Fijian artist, singer, dancer and theatre actor who has used her platform to advocate for climate change awareness across the South Pacific.
Born and raised in Fiji, Paulini hails from the village of Nananu in Tailevu and began her musical journey singing in a church choir. Throughout her career, she has performed in notable Pacific theatre and musical productions, including taking on the lead role of Donna in the Fijian production of Mamma Mia!.
Paulini was also a member of Pasifika Voices, an elite Pacific vocal ensemble that recorded soundtracks for major projects. Beyond her incredible performing arts career, Paulini has combined her passion for music and theatre with environmental advocacy through Youngsolwara Pacific. She toured extensively across Europe, including Brussels, Copenhagen, Edinburgh and St Andrews, performing in the acclaimed production Moana and the Rising Sea.
The production became a powerful creative platform to highlight the impacts of climate change on Pacific Island nations and advocate for climate justice. Paulini also travelled to New York to perform the musical at the United Nations during COP23.
We are proud to have Paulini Bautani sharing her voice, her story and her incredible talent with our community.
Once again, Carolanne and the entire 531pi team โ vinaka vakalevu for having Paulini on your show and supporting our Fijian talent. ๐ซ๐ฏ๐๐ณ๐ฟ
