🚨 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT – PĀ WARS 2026 POSTPONED 🚨

It is with regret that we announce Pā Wars 2026, scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday 10 October at Wharerangi Marae, has been POSTPONED until further notice.

🌧️ Due to the weather conditions, a collective decision has been made by the participating marae and Wharerangi Marae Trustees to postpone the event.

The safety and wellbeing of our whānau, kaumātua, tamariki, participants, volunteers and wider community are our highest priority.

We sincerely apologise for the short notice and any inconvenience this may cause, especially to those who have spent time preparing, organising teams and making arrangements to attend.

❤️ A huge mihi to all our marae, sponsors, vendors, volunteers and supporters for the incredible mahi and commitment leading up to this event.

FUTURE LAND USE IN HAWKE’S BAY: Forestry, Farming, Climate & Communities
The New Zealand Institute of Forestry (NZIF) Hawke’s Bay Local Section invites you to an evening discussing some of the big issues shaping the future of Hawke’s Bay’s land-based sectors and rural communities.

Hear directly from election candidates on topics including forestry, farming and land use, climate and carbon policy, biodiversity, infrastructure, rural communities and regional economic development.

E ngā rangatahi, he huarahi hou tēnei! Seipp Construction has opened its East Clive Wastewater Treatment Plant Mana Whenua Scholarship for rangatahi from Waipūreku and the greater Heretaunga Hastings region who are charting a path into civil engineering.

What's on offer:

• One week of work experience on the East Clive Wastewater Treatment Plant site this summer (2026/27), alongside Seipp's engineers and construction team
• Practical help with tertiary and student loan applications
• One year of tuition fees paid once you successfully complete your first year towards a Level 6 or higher engineering qualification
• Monthly online mentoring with Seipp's Technical Director
• A paid summer internship after your first year of study (Auckland, Clive, Wellington or Christchurch)

To apply, you'll need:

• University Entrance and NCEA Level 3
• A completed online application form
• Written endorsement of your mana whenua status from your iwi, hapū or marae, plus a character reference from a member of your hapū whānau
• A reference from a current or former employer, teacher or principal
• To show your passion for engineering and infrastructure at an in-person interview
