Guest Speaker – Taine Randell

Topic: Why politics? What made you decide to stand as a New Zealand First candidate?

Taine is a retired New Zealand rugby union player who captained the All Blacks in 22 tests between 1998 and 2002. Born in Hastings, he became Otago’s youngest-ever captain at 19. During his rugby career, he played 51 tests and scored 12 international tries. He later played professionally for Saracens in the UK before moving into business, governance and politics.

Membership of NZPIF through its associations has been declining for some time. This reflects an ageing membership base and the different ways younger people now find information, including Facebook, YouTube and other online sources. We will have a short discussion about the future of NZPIF, its relationship with HBPIA and what members would like that relationship to look like.
