Please forgive us for being quieter than usual over the last few weeks. As you know Bootle, Sunny and Tommy haven't been very well lately. Bootle had recurring cystitis and she stopped responding to antibiotics. The vets ran all the tests and we were treating it aggressively but the inflammation in her bladder continued to get worse. She didn't want to go out and had stopped enjoying her food, she was just very unhappy. To us, the quality of life will always be the most important thing for our animals so we made the heartbreaking decision to save her from the suffering and let her go peacefully 💔

Sunny has been struggling with kidney disease for quite some time and despite daily medication and feeding her a special diet, she passed away in her sleep. Right until the end she was the same sweet, loving girl we all loved so much 💔

And Tommy. His health went downhill so shockingly fast and the vets diagnosed him with babesiosis. They warned us that the chances of him surviving were very slim but we couldn't give up. He fought so hard but it just wasn't enough. He was such an amazing dog 💔

When we lose dogs to old age its easier to process. We see the gradual decline, we know its coming, we can prepare for it. But losing these 3 due to illness after fighting with them for so long has broken our hearts.

This beautiful old girl is Selina and she's looking for a Booster Buddy to donate for her annual vaccination. Could it be you please?

Selina was found with her siblings in January 2013. The weather was freezing and the pups were living in underground tunnels near the hospital. The puppies were terrified and had probably lived their entire short lives with no human contact. We managed to catch them all and get them back to the shelter.

Selina is still here with us and its such a sweetheart. She is always enthusiastic and loves meeting new people.

Today was Honeys first vet visit to assess the lump on her shoulder and the back leg that she is having problems with. The back leg was fractured but has healed and isn't causing her any pain so will be left as is for now.
What shocked and angered us is that the lump on her shoulder is because she has been shot with an air rifle and the pellet was still in there 😡
How anyone could look at this sweet girl, or any animal for that matter, and decide that they are target practise is completely beyond our understanding. Its heartbreaking to think what she has already been through in her few months on earth 💔
She is safe now and on medication to treat the inflammation and any infection. We also had Sunny at the vet as she has kidney disease and has been struggling quite a bit lately, we will give her, her own post with the details ❤️

The total vet bills for both, including fuel, came to 318 euros. This made quite a dent in our already stretched funds but we can't compromise when it comes to the care of any of our animals. If you can help towards these costs, or if you would like to sponsor Honey, please follow the link below 🙏

We are absolutely heartbroken 💔 Dot who has been with us since 2011 has passed away. Rest in peace sweetheart, we all miss you 😔

🐾 Bran update 🐾

Bran has settled in really well at the family home. He is healing well and regaining some strength in his hind end. We think that along with the injuries as a result of the dog he was with bullying him, that his hind end issues are probably down to genetics as well. We will keep monitoring his movement and hope that he continues to improve ❤️
