Redeemer’s University Joins Association of Commonwealth Universities
Redeemer’s University, Ede, Nigeria, has further cemented its leadership position in the community of global higher education institutions by becoming a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU).
This development has situated Redeemer’s University within one of the world's largest university networks, with 400 institutions in 40 Commonwealth countries.
It has also further strengthened the University’s growing presence on the global higher education landscape.
Commenting on the development, the Vice-Chancellor of Redeemer’s University, Professor Shadrach Olufemi Akindele, described the membership as a significant milestone in the University’s relentless pursuit of excellence, innovation and global impact.
“The admission of Redeemer’s University into the Association of Commonwealth Universities is a proud moment for our institution and a clear reflection of the progress we are making in our journey towards global excellence.
“We are building a university that is not only distinguished by academic excellence, but one that is confidently positioned to contribute to conversations, collaborations and solutions that matter to the Commonwealth and the wider world.
“This membership gives us another platform to showcase the quality of our scholarship, the talent of our people and the transformative work we are doing at Redeemer’s University,” he said.
ACU’s accredited status with the Commonwealth Secretariat gives Redeemer’s University a platform to engage with and influence policy agendas at the highest levels. Membership also provides the University with valuable access to a network of peers for sharing best practices, exchanging knowledge and forging strategic partnerships.
Importantly, Redeemer’s University will now benefit from a range of opportunities for staff and students to apply for funding and participate in ACU-led projects and programmes.
The development marks another significant step in Redeemer’s University’s continuing drive to strengthen its international partnerships, expand opportunities for its academic community and fulfil its vision of setting standards through continuous commitment to excellence and making a transformative impact on society.
