Alhaji Muri Ajaka to join forces with Alhaji Isah Echocho
STATEMENT
Over the past few days, political engagements and consultations surrounding the Kogi East Senatorial primary election have remained intense across our district. I have received tremendous encouragement and support from stakeholders, party faithful, youths, women, and the good people of Kogi East who urged me to join the race in pursuit of effective and people-oriented representation. I remain sincerely humbled by the confidence and goodwill shown to me throughout this period.
My decision to indicate interest in the senatorial race was driven by a genuine desire to contribute to the growth, unity, and development of Kogi East, while ensuring that our people continue to enjoy strong and quality representation at the National Assembly. The aspiration was never about personal ambition alone, but about service, inclusion, and the collective progress of our district.
However, after extensive consultations with relevant stakeholders and careful consideration of the broader interest of Kogi East, I have decided to fully support Distinguished Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho Though I may not agree with some of his leadership approaches, he remains the better alternative at this critical moment owing to his experience, political reach, ranking advantage, and capacity to attract greater development and opportunities to our district through strategic leadership and national influence in the National Assembly.
This decision is also in the interest of unity and our collective resolve to speak with one voice as a people, while galvanizing stronger support for the reelection of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR. Consequently, I hereby urge my supporters and the good people of our district to extend to him the same support and cooperation they have always shown me for the peace, unity, and continued progress of Kogi East.
I also respectfully urge the national leadership of our great party to take a deeper look into the happenings in Kogi State, in the interest of unity, stability, and the long-term progress of the party and people.
Yakubu Murtala Ajaka
