TEAM ANTIDOTE INAUGURATES COORDINATORS IN KOGI CENTRAL, MOBILIZES FOR YAHAYA BELLO’S 2027 SENATORIAL BID

TEAM ANTIDOTE held a sensitization meeting earlier today at Kings Royal Hotel, Okene, where newly appointed Coordinators for the five Local Government Areas in Kogi Central were officially inaugurated.

The meeting brought together representatives from all 57 wards across Kogi Central, marking a major step in the team’s grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at the event, the President and Convener of TEAM ANTIDOTE, Mrs. Zubeida Yakubu, charged the new coordinators to serve as worthy ambassadors of the team and to carry out their duties in line with the organization’s standards.

A major focus of her address was the need to mobilize massive support and canvas for the election of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, the APC senatorial candidate for Kogi Central ahead of 2027 general elections.

“You have been entrusted with a critical responsibility,” Mrs. Yakubu said. “Be committed to the Yahaya Bello senatorial project. Conduct yourselves in a way that will win more friends for our supreme leader and bring more people to our fold.”

She urged the coordinators to take the campaign directly to the people, from ward to polling unit level, and to remain disciplined, accessible, and service-driven.

In response, the newly inaugurated ward and LGA coordinators expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve. They pledged to justify the confidence reposed in them by working tirelessly to deliver on TEAM ANTIDOTE’s agenda.

“We will not betray this trust,” one of the coordinators stated on behalf of the group. “We are taking Yahaya Bello’s message to every polling unit in Kogi Central, and we will work to ensure victory in 2027.”

In a related development, the leadership of TEAM ANTIDOTE also visited Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area to inaugurate coordinators who will pilot the affairs of the group in the LGA. Representatives from Ogori/Magongo expressed delight at being part of the movement, describing it as a special journey towards people-centered leadership in Kogi Central.

TEAM ANTIDOTE reaffirmed its commitment to serving the people of Kogi Central and to building a strong, people-oriented movement that supports credible leadership.

The inauguration signals the beginning of intensified grassroots engagements by the team across the zone in the months ahead.

PDP Kogi Central Collapses into APC as Azamare Aligns with Yahaya Bello

As campaigns for the 2026 National Assembly elections officially commence today, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi Central Senatorial District is facing an apparent exodus of key stakeholders and members into the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The development became public today when a former leader of the PDP, Hon. Suberu Azamare Yakubu, paid a visit to former Governor Yahaya Bello. Azamare, who was regarded as a rallying point for the PDP in Kogi Central, said the party had lost its direction and electoral appeal.

According to him, the decision to move to the APC was driven by what he described as a desire to support Bello's senatorial ambition and acknowledge his contribution to the people of Ebiraland.
“I want to say to you, Your Excellency, that we have resolved to move into the APC and support your senatorial ambition. I feel great and proud today as an Anebira because of the political liberation and development you fought for Ebira. Your Excellency, there is nobody in Kogi Central today who will beat his chest to vote against you. Your senatorial election is a referendum for the people of Ebiraland to appreciate you for what you have done for us. Today, our people can sleep with their eyes closed. Businesses are booming in Kogi Central today, all because we have peace and security.”

Azamare further assured Bello that other PDP groups in the area would follow suit and join the APC in the days ahead.
Responding, former Governor Yahaya Bello, CON, thanked Azamare for the gesture and assured him that the APC would provide a level playing field for all new members. He also said former PDP members joining the party would be welcomed and given equal opportunities to participate in its activities.

Hon Azamare, a Kogi Central constituent who petitioned the President of the Senate on behalf of the Kogi Central Senator in the 10th Assembly, after the Senator’s initial self-submitted petition faced procedural pushback, disclosed that members of the PDP in Kogi Central had resolved to join the APC and support the senatorial bid of former Governor Yahaya Bello.
