THE MOMENT WAS 2025. THE MISSION CONTINUES.

A photograph can capture a moment.
But a movement is built by what happens after the photograph.

In 2025, young people, peacebuilders, educators, community leaders and stakeholders came together through the Youth Peace & Security (YPS) Conference (Youth Peace And Security Conference YPS Nigeria) to discuss what it means for young people to become active partners in building peaceful and inclusive communities.

Captured in this moment is the representative of the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, delivering a goodwill message at the conference an important reminder of the role of institutions and stakeholders in advancing youth participation, inclusion and peacebuilding.

That moment was more than a conference.

It was a reminder of what UN Security Council Resolution 2250 calls for: meaningful youth participation in peace and security, prevention, partnerships, protection, and disengagement and reintegration.

Now, we are taking that conversation forward.

6th Youth Peace & Security (YPS) Conference & Awards 2026

Date; 30 September 2026

Venue; Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR), Abuja

As the world prepares to commemorate the International Day of Peace, we are reminded that peace is not simply an aspiration.

Peace is something we invest in.
Peace is something we practice.
Peace is something we build together.

Invest in Peace: For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day.

The journey continues.

Some moments deserve a second look.

During both our first and second courtesy visits to one of our esteemed patrons, His Royal Highness Amb. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, CFR, the Emir of Zazzau, we had the privilege of sharing APAF’s efforts to localize the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace and Security (YPS). We discussed the importance of empowering young people to become active peacebuilders while strengthening collaboration with traditional institutions to advance sustainable peace.

As we prepare for the 6th Youth Peace & Security Conference & Awards 2026, these engagements continue to inspire our commitment to turning global frameworks into local action. We remain grateful for the Emir’s encouragement and unwavering support for youth-led peacebuilding initiatives.

On 29 and 30 July 2026, APAF Peace For All reaffirmed its commitment to institutional excellence by participating in the Introduction to Organisational Development for CSOs & CBOs training held at Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), Kano. We believe that building stronger organizations is fundamental to delivering sustainable peacebuilding and community development initiatives.

APAF was represented by Amb. Muhammad Jinjiri Ibrahim, Director of Administration and Operations; Amb. Hauwa Abdullahi, Deputy Director, Programmes – Peacebuilding & Community Development; and Abubakar A. Abubakar. The two-day training strengthened participants’ knowledge of organizational systems, governance, leadership, and institutional sustainability.

At APAF, we understand that lasting impact begins with strong institutions. We commend the African Institute for Solutions and Development (AISD) and the Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo Foundation for investing in the capacity of civil society organizations to lead change and build more resilient communities.
