As part of the National Police Day 2026 activities, the Kano State Police Command under the leadership of CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD convened a strategic roundtable with Civil Society Organizations to co-create solutions for preventing election violence and promoting peaceful electoral processes.
Arewa Peace Ambassadors Forum ( ) (APAF Peace for All) was represented by Amb. Ibrahim Muhammad Kabir ( ) (Director, Community Development) and Amb. Muhammad Jinjiri Ibrahim (Director, Special Assignments). The engagement provided a participatory platform to examine key drivers of election violence including thuggery, substance abuse, fake news, and hate speech while identifying practical pathways for public sensitization and coordinated action.
We commend the leadership of the Commissioner of Police for prioritizing collaboration and reaffirming that sustainable security is built through partnership with communities and civil society.
At APAF, we believe that preventing violence begins with inclusive dialogue, shared responsibility, and timely action. We remain committed to working with stakeholders to strengthen civic awareness, promote peaceful participation, and build trust ahead of the electoral process.
Peace is a collective responsibility and together, it is achievable.
