As part of the National Police Day 2026 activities, the Kano State Police Command under the leadership of CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD convened a strategic roundtable with Civil Society Organizations to co-create solutions for preventing election violence and promoting peaceful electoral processes.

Arewa Peace Ambassadors Forum ( ) (APAF Peace for All) was represented by Amb. Ibrahim Muhammad Kabir ( ) (Director, Community Development) and Amb. Muhammad Jinjiri Ibrahim (Director, Special Assignments). The engagement provided a participatory platform to examine key drivers of election violence including thuggery, substance abuse, fake news, and hate speech while identifying practical pathways for public sensitization and coordinated action.

We commend the leadership of the Commissioner of Police for prioritizing collaboration and reaffirming that sustainable security is built through partnership with communities and civil society.

At APAF, we believe that preventing violence begins with inclusive dialogue, shared responsibility, and timely action. We remain committed to working with stakeholders to strengthen civic awareness, promote peaceful participation, and build trust ahead of the electoral process.

Peace is a collective responsibility and together, it is achievable.

At APAF, we don’t just talk peace, we build it, one initiative, one student, one community at a time.

Innalillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.

With profound sorrow and complete submission to the will of Almighty Allah, the Arewa Peace Ambassadors Forum - APAF (APAF – Peace for All) announces the passing of Comrade Saifullahi Babawa.

We pray that Allah, in His infinite mercy, forgives his shortcomings, grants him Aljannatul Firdaus, and strengthens his parents, family, friends, and the entire peacebuilding community with the patience to endure this painful loss.

Comrade Babawa was a committed supporter of our mission and one of those who stood with this noble journey from its very foundation. His dedication, humility, and unwavering belief in the cause of peace will always be remembered within the APAF family and beyond.

As an organization devoted to promoting peace, unity, and service to humanity, we deeply value the sacrifices of individuals like him whose contributions helped shape our collective impact.

His Jana’iza prayer will take place at 2:00 PM at his family residence in Kofar Famfo, Kano.

May Allah forgive him, grant him eternal rest, and envelop him in His mercy especially in the blessings of this sacred month.

Education does not happen in isolation. The learning environment matters, the walls, the safety, the attention given to students, and the dignity of the space itself. These images reflect a reality many students in Northern Nigeria face, overcrowded classrooms, worn facilities, and limited learning resources. Yet, even in these conditions, the hunger to learn, to speak, and to lead remains strong. That resilience deserves more than admiration it deserves action.

This is a clear call to policymakers, education authorities, and development partners: investment in education must go beyond enrollment numbers. Safe, inclusive, and well-resourced learning environments are foundational to peace, social cohesion, and long-term development. When schools are neglected, young people become vulnerable; when schools are strengthened, communities become resilient.

At Arewa Peace Ambassadors Forum - APAF (APAF Peace for All), through the Empower Students for Peace & Sustainable Development (ESP–SD) project, we align grassroots action with policy priorities, ensuring education serves as a pathway to peace, not a missed opportunity.

Education is policy. Education is prevention. Education is peace.

Education is more than access to classrooms, it is a powerful tool for shaping values, preventing violence, and building peaceful societies. When young people are equipped with knowledge, critical thinking, and civic responsibility, they are less vulnerable to hate, crime, and exclusion.

At Arewa Peace Ambassadors Forum - APAF (APAF Peace for All), this belief drives our Empower Students for Peace and Sustainable Development (ESP-SD) Project. By investing in students as peacebuilders and change agents, we are strengthening the foundation for safer schools, resilient communities, and inclusive development.

On this International Day of Education, we reaffirm our commitment to education that goes beyond certificates, education that nurtures peace, leadership, and shared responsibility.

Because when we educate for peace, we secure the future.
