CPPLI is basically into protecting young children and adolescent against violence, abuse, exploitation and neglect. The resulting activities of CPPLI is to prevent harm to future leaders of tomorrow. CPPLI also empowers women, and strive to foster girl-child education. Our thematic focus also brings about the actualization of justice for children/women/adolescent who have suffered or are suffering GBV/SGBV related cases.

CPPLI Conducts Pilot Testing of E-Referral System in Gubio

Child Protection and Peer Learning Initiative (CPPLI), in partnership with LABDI and with support from NHF, conducted a pilot testing of the e-Referral system for partners in Gubio LGA, Borno State, Nigeria.

The pilot exercise was aimed at familiarizing partners with the e-Referral process and strengthening timely, efficient, and coordinated referrals of vulnerable children and other individuals requiring protection and support services. The activity also provided an opportunity to identify practical challenges and gather feedback for further improvement of the system.

Support Materials Distribution at CPPLI Safe Space, Gubio LGA

Child Protection and Peer Learning Initiative (CPPLI), in partnership with Life at Best Development Initiative (LABDI) and with support from NHF, conducted the distribution of support materials to WPT, MBSAVAWG, and CBPC at the CPPLI Safe Space in Gubio LGA, Borno State, Nigeria.

The distribution reached a total of 80 beneficiaries, providing essential materials to strengthen community-based protection activities and support the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of vulnerable children, women, girls, and other community members.

The beneficiaries expressed their appreciation for the support and committed to utilizing the materials effectively to strengthen their activities and contribute to improved protection and support services within the community.

Communication Skills

Before participating in the life skills sessions, I often kept my feelings and opinions to myself because I found it difficult to express myself openly. Through the sessions, I learned the importance of respectful communication, active listening, and expressing my thoughts and feelings in a calm and positive way.

I also learned how to manage disagreements and solve problems through dialogue rather than conflict. These skills have helped me communicate better with my family, friends, and people around me. I now feel more confident expressing myself, listening to others, and finding peaceful solutions to misunderstandings.

As a result, my relationships with my family and friends have become stronger, more respectful, and more supportive.

CPPLI and LABDI, with support from NHF, conducted a refresher training for CP, VAWG Caseworkers, CFS Supervisors, and WGSS Supervisors in Gubio LGA, Borno State.

The training aimed to strengthen participants’ knowledge, skills, and capacity to effectively deliver quality protection and gender-based violence services to vulnerable women, children, and other affected community members.

The session also provided an opportunity for participants to refresh their understanding, share experiences, and discuss practical approaches to improving service delivery and referral pathways within their respective areas of work.

Field Monitoring Visit in Gubio

CPPLI and LABDI, in partnership with NHF, conducted a joint field monitoring visit to project communities in Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State, Nigeria. The visit provided an opportunity to assess ongoing project activities, engage with beneficiaries and community stakeholders, and review progress made so far.

The monitoring team observed the implementation of activities, identified key achievements and challenges, and provided recommendations to strengthen project delivery. The visit reaffirmed the commitment of CPPLI, LABDI and NHF to promoting quality implementation, accountability, and improved well-being for vulnerable children, women, and families in the communities.

World Breastfeeding Week 2026

In commemoration of World Breastfeeding Week 2026, the Child Protection and Peer Learning Initiative (CPPLI) joins the global community in promoting the importance of breastfeeding for the health and well-being of mothers and children. Breastfeeding provides babies with the essential nutrients they need for healthy growth, strengthens their immune system, and creates a strong bond between mother and child.

CPPLI encourages mothers to practice exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life and to continue breastfeeding alongside appropriate complementary feeding up to two years and beyond. Together, let us support every mother by creating a safe, caring, and enabling environment where every child can enjoy the best possible start in life. The Child Protection and Peer Learning Initiative (CPPLI), in partnership with Life at Best Development Initiative (LABDI) and with support from the Nigeria Humanitarian Fund (NHF), conducted a two days refresher training for Women Protection Teams (WPT) and MBSAVAWG in Gubio Local Government Area, Borno State.

The training was organized to strengthen participants’ existing knowledge and skills in protection, prevention and response to Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), community-based protection, referral pathways, and safe identification of protection concerns.

Participants actively engaged in discussions, practical sessions, and experience-sharing, which helped reinforce their understanding of their roles and responsibilities within the community.

The refresher training also emphasized confidentiality, safeguarding, accountability, and community participation, while encouraging participants to continue supporting women, girls, and other vulnerable community members.

Overall, the training strengthened the capacity of WPT and MBSAVAWG members to effectively identify protection concerns, provide appropriate support and referrals, and contribute to creating a safer, more inclusive, and protective environment for women and girls in Gubio LGA.
