🎉 Celebrating a milestone in our Executive Director’s peacebuilding journey!

Common Ground for Peace, Rights and Development (CGPRD) congratulates our Executive Director, Bukar Mohammed Atiyaye, MPI, on his induction on 30 September 2026, following completion of the Conflict Management Course in May and the Strategic Course on Negotiation and Mediation in September at the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR).

For us, this achievement connects learning with the work we do every day: bringing people together, supporting dialogue and helping communities find peaceful ways forward.

Congratulations, Sir! We look forward to the knowledge and practical skills this journey will bring to our team and the communities we serve.

🇳🇬🇧🇪 Continuing the conversation for peace, rights and inclusive participation.

On 28 September 2026, a delegation from Common Ground for Peace, Rights and Development (CGPRD) visited the Embassy of Belgium in Nigeria , in Abuja, building on our earlier engagement with His Excellency Ambassador Pieter before his departure from Nigeria.

We shared our work in Yobe State, including Democracy Beyond Elections, which promotes informed civic participation and accountability; Mahangar Al’umma, our Community Observatory bringing community perspectives into public dialogue; and our efforts to advance Youth, Peace and Security and women’s meaningful inclusion.

We also listened to the Embassy’s priorities and explored where our work and shared interests could connect.

We appreciate the Embassy’s warm reception and look forward to sustaining this relationship, deepening dialogue and developing practical opportunities for collaboration that benefit the communities we serve.

A new week is another opportunity to listen, connect and act. 🌍

At Common Ground for Peace, Rights and Development (CGPRD), we believe meaningful change begins with understanding the realities people experience every day—and ensuring those realities find their way into the conversations and decisions that affect them.

This week, we remain committed to building bridges: between communities and decision-makers, between young people and opportunities to lead, and between grassroots realities and the policies designed to address them.

Whether through peacebuilding, human rights, democratic participation, climate resilience or youth engagement, our starting point remains the same: people.
