Strengthening Sustainable Agriculture Through Crop–Livestock Integration!

On 28th–29th July 2026, Community Advocate for Rural Development (CARD), under the Soil Values Project, successfully conducted a Training of Trainers (ToT) on Crop–Livestock Integration (CLI) at the Landscape Level for Improved Soil Fertility and Productivity at River Edge Resort, G.R.A, Bauchi.

The two-day training brought together Extension Agents and Lead Farmers from Jama’are, Shira, Toro, Ningi, Itas, and Zaki LGAs to strengthen their knowledge and skills in sustainable Crop–Livestock Integration practices. Participants were equipped with practical techniques on nutrient cycling, manure management, fodder establishment, crop residue utilization, and climate-smart farming practices that improve soil fertility and agricultural productivity.

Together, we are building resilient farming communities and restoring healthy landscapes for a sustainable future.

Through CARD’s support for briquette production, women are turning agricultural waste into clean, affordable cooking fuel that reduces pressure on forests while creating a reliable source of income.

🌱 Restoring Our Riverbanks, One Tree at a Time! 🌱

Yesterday, the Community Advocate for Rural Development (CARD), through the Soil Values Project, carried out a successful tree planting campaign across six communities in Itas and Jama’are LGAs as part of our Agroforestry and Riverbank Restoration Initiative.

Together with community members, local leaders, and stakeholders, we planted 1,071 tree seedlings along vulnerable riverbanks to restore degraded landscapes, reduce erosion, protect water resources, and strengthen climate resilience.

Every tree planted is a commitment to healthier ecosystems, sustainable agriculture, and a greener future for generations to come.

We sincerely appreciate the support and active participation of our communities, partners, and everyone who contributed to making this campaign a success.
