🌍 Expanding Climate Change Education Across Bauchi State!
From 11th–15th May 2026, Community Advocate for Rural Development (CARD), under the AfricaRe-UNICEF Climate Change Education Partnership, successfully supported the step-down training on Climate Change Education and adolescents Climate Action across 7 LGAs in Bauchi State.
Following the earlier Master Trainers Training, the trained facilitators cascaded climate knowledge and practical action skills to over 200 student representatives selected from participating schools across the seven LGAs.
These students will now serve as peer educators and climate ambassadors in their schools and communities, further stepping down climate education and awareness activities to reach approximately 8,000 students across Bauchi State.
The training focused on:
🌱 Climate change education and literacy
♻️ Environmental sustainability and waste management
🌳 Tree planting and youth-led climate action
🛡️ School safety and climate resilience
💡 Green skills and community engagement
This initiative is empowering young people with the knowledge, leadership skills, and confidence needed to take meaningful climate action and contribute to building safer, greener, and more climate-resilient communities.
CARD remains committed to working with UNICEF, Africa Reinsurance Corporation, government stakeholders, and local communities to advance climate action through education and youth engagement.
