Celebrating 81 wonderful years of PP Goolam Mohamedbhai G.O.S.K on 10.06.2026 ✨

A founder member of the Rotary Club of Quatre Bornes, a Rotarian for 50 years, and a pillar of our club for the past 40 years, PP Goolam represents the true spirit of Rotary: dedication, humility, friendship, and service.

It is such an honour and privilege for us to have him among us, to learn from his journey, and to share moments with someone who has dedicated five decades of his life to serving others.

Through the years, he has inspired generations of Rotarians, not only through his actions but also through the values he continues to share. One phrase he often reminds us of perfectly reflects his lifelong commitment:

"𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗥𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯, 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲."

And PP Goolam is the perfect example of these words.

Thank you, PP Goolam, for your wisdom, kindness, and unwavering dedication. You remind us that Rotary is more than service, it is a family built on friendships, shared values, and the desire to make a difference.

Happy 81st Birthday PP Goolam. We are truly honoured to celebrate this special milestone with you. ❤️

A Visit of Recognition, Gratitude, and Rotary Spirit

On Wednesday 10th, the Rotary Club of Quatre Bornes had the honour of welcoming our District Governor Bernard, Lady Cécile, and District Officer Ming for a memorable club visit.

An evening filled with fellowship, appreciation, and meaningful conversations as our DG Bernard and DO Ming seized the opportunity to extend their gratitude to the RCQB team for their outstanding contribution during the Conférence & Assemblée D9220 - 2026.

With 12 members representing our club at the conference, RCQB proudly contributed not only through attendance but also through leadership and service.

A special recognition was given to:

AG Anju, who chaired the Sergeant-at-Arms team, ensuring smooth coordination and an exceptional experience throughout the conference.

President Deeraj, who took charge of Telecommunications, making sure attendees stayed connected by successfully providing free Wi-Fi access during the event.

Beyond celebrating the memories of the District Conference, this special evening was also an opportunity for DG Bernard and President Deeraj to recognise three important pillars who contributed significantly to the success of the Rotary Year 2025-2026 at the Rotary Club of Quatre Bornes.

Avenues of Service Certificates were proudly presented to:

Rotarian Urvashee

For her excellence in leading one of the biggest projects of the year, the renovation of the wet unit at Robert Barth Pre-Primary School. A project that goes beyond infrastructure. A project that will improve the daily experience, comfort, and environment of generations of children for the next 20 years.

AG Anju

For her dedication to membership growth and strengthening the future of the club. Through her efforts, RCQB grew from 19 to 25 members, welcoming new skills, new ideas, and new energy that will continue taking the club forward and upward.

PP Dev

For his remarkable leadership as Director of Projects. With dedication and commitment, he successfully guided 12 projects from vision to reality, ensuring that ideas became meaningful actions within our community.

An evening filled with emotions, gratitude, and pride as we celebrated a hardworking team, remembered an unforgettable District Conference, and honoured the people who helped shape this Rotary year.

Because behind every successful Rotary year, there are Rotarians who choose to serve, lead, and make a difference.

Who knew the best camera was already sitting in our pockets?

This Wednesday, our meeting came with a little twist. Less talking, more clicking! 📸

We had the pleasure of welcoming Yesween Dowarkasing (Yesh) for a special “Photography. In My Pocket” session, where he showed us how to transform our everyday mobile phones into powerful tools to capture moments that matter.

As a professional videographer and Director of Photography at Circus Advertising, Yesh brought his creativity, experience, and industry secrets straight to our club. From angles, lighting, framing, and storytelling (and yes… correcting some of our questionable photography habits), he coached us on how to better capture the memories created through our meetings, projects, and events.

To say the session was fun and educational would be an understatement! It was interactive, practical, full of laughter, and definitely changed the way we look at our phone cameras.

A big thank you to Yesh for reminding us that beautiful memories are not only created but also captured.

Now beware… the Rotary Club of Quatre Bornes has officially upgraded its photography skills!

Celebrating the Captain before he hands over the wheel!

On Saturday, 06.06.2026, during our Board meeting at Ambre, hosted by AG Anju and PE Onella, we took a special moment to celebrate the birthday of our dear President, Deeraj.

Now… don’t be fooled by this relaxed and casual version of him. 😎
After a year of meetings, planning, projects, decisions, late-night follow-ups, and carrying the responsibility of leading the Rotary Club of Quatre Bornes, we can confirm that he has definitely earned his moment to chillax!

As his mandate slowly comes to an end, President Deeraj finally gave himself permission to pause, enjoy his birthday, share some laughs, and simply enjoy the company of his Rotary family.

Behind every successful Rotary year is a President who gives his time, energy, and heart to serve. This time, it was our turn to celebrate him.

Happy Birthday once again, President Deeraj!
Wishing you happiness, success, and many more beautiful moments ahead.

🌱 Growing a Greener Tomorrow Starts Today 🌱

For World Environment Day - June 5th, the Rotary Club of Quatre-Bornes, in collaboration with Natir, organised Green Buddies, an initiative dedicated to inspiring the next generation to protect and value our unique Mauritian environment.

Surrounded by the natural beauty of Plaine Sophie, the students of Arden Junior School discovered the importance of biodiversity, conservation, and the protection of Mauritius’ precious endemic and indigenous plants, species that form an essential part of our island’s natural heritage.

Through educational walks, discussions with environmental specialists, and hands-on activities, the children learned that protecting nature begins with understanding and preserving the ecosystems that make Mauritius so special.

The highlight of the day was the tree planting activity, where each child planted their own endemic tree and became its guardian. A simple gesture carrying a powerful message: the roots we nurture today will help shape the Mauritius of tomorrow.

Through Green Buddies, the Rotary Club of Quatre-Bornes continues its commitment to environmental education, empowering young minds to become responsible guardians of our planet.

Because a greener future begins with the little hands that care for it today.

Yesterday, 27th May, the Rotary Club of Quatre Bornes was privileged to attend a highly insightful talk titled “Behind the Vault.”

Presented by Rotarian Ravitej, who is part of the SBM, and Rotarian Aufia, whose extensive experience in the banking sector brought remarkable depth to the discussion, the session offered members a fascinating perspective into the world of banking. The evening quickly turned into an engaging exchange, with members raising numerous questions and showing great curiosity throughout the talk.

The club also had the pleasure of preparing a second surprise for our AG Anju, who ended the evening on a particularly lucky note by also becoming our weekly raffle winner.

A heartfelt thank you to our speakers for an enriching talk.

Today, we celebrate our incredible AG Anju.

A truly remarkable woman who knows no bounds, Anju continues to inspire not only our club, but the entire Mauritian Rotary community through her dedication. This was also clearly seen at the Conférence & Assemblée D9220 - 2026.

This Friday, the Rotary Club of Quatre Bornes cannot help but reminisce about last Friday and what was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the conference for us: the Home Hospitality Evening. ✨

Conférence & Assemblée D9220 - 2026

With the invaluable help of PP Alan, we had the pleasure of hosting the evening alongside 6 other clubs while welcoming our twin clubs for a truly memorable night.

And what an evening it was… definitely a special one!

To our guests, thank you for joining us. We truly hope you had a wonderful and memorable evening. Rotary Club Saint-Denis Austral Rotary Club Sainte-Marie Roland Garros Centenaire

To the other clubs hosting with us, we hope you had just as much fun as we did!

And to our club members, thank you for your presence, for showing up in your finest attire, and most importantly, for taking such great care of our guests throughout the evening!

PS: We might just have hosted the party PDG Manoj was talking about the next morning…
Well, you know what they say…

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
In our case… what happens at Domaine IzI stays at Domaine IzI! 😉

What really made this Conférence & Assemblée D9220 - 2026 special was the friendships.

The kind that grow within a club through endless laughter, chaotic car rides, shared meals, inside jokes, tired faces after long days… yet still finding energy to keep going together.

Friendships with clubs around Mauritius.
Friendships across the district.
And friendships that crossed the ocean and made the Indian Ocean Islands feel just next door.

Here’s how an incredible week with RC Quatre Bornes went by:

✨ Weekend 09-10 May
Airport runs, excitement, hugs, and welcoming our Reunion friends to Mauritius.

✨ Sunday 10 May
A beautiful joint project with RC Saint Denis Austral, with RC Victoria joining hands with us, distributing food and blankets at Mam Sans Baz, Port Louis.

✨ Sunday 10 May
A warm welcome dinner hosted by RCQB for our guests at Port Louis.

✨ Monday 11 May
A full South day adventure - Blue Bay, good food, beautiful views, lots of photos, and ending the day with dinner hosted by President Deeraj.

✨ Tuesday 12 May
A touching visit to Oasis de Paix during the day.

✨ Tuesday 12 May
Bowling Night / Family Night… where competitiveness suddenly appeared in everyone

✨ Wednesday 13 May to Saturday 16 May
District Conference days - filled with learning, reunions, laughs, networking, dancing, and very little sleep.

✨ Friday 15 May
Home Hospitality at Domaine Izi - one of those evenings that simply felt special.

✨ Saturday 16 May
An amazing Gala Night and gift exchange with Rotary Club Saint-Denis Austral & Rotary Club Sainte-Marie Roland Garros Centenaire.

One week.
So many memories.
So much laughter.
So many beautiful people brought together through Rotary.
To Rotary the world over! Cheers!
