ASARPI: The Institute for Advanced Study of African Renaissance Policies Ideas

Who We Are

ASARPI- The Institute for the Advanced Study of African Renaissance Policies Ideas.ASARPI , registered in South Africa and Mauritius( as Advanced Study of African Renaissance Policies Ideas and soon in USA, is Prof John H.Stanfield's 20 year old largely virtual think tank now doing joint venturing work

in Africa since he moved full time to the continent in 2014.As an emerging Zoom oriented virtual /face to face Pan African think tank, ASARPI with global headquarters in Quatre Bornes, Mauritius strives to be positioned to be a broker of futuristic cutting edge public policy ideas in and for Africa and the continent's relationships with Asia and the West in collaborative and empowering post-colonial ways. What We Do

ASARPI ambitions are grounded in the empirical fact that the 21st century and beyond belongs to Africans and Asians as equal partners with rather than as subjects to Western nations. So like our brothers and sisters in Asia and in Asian Diasporas , Africans on the continent and around the world are becoming much more proactive and futuristic in building sustainable strategic planning and effective implementation platforms linking older established leaders and their institutions and movements with emerging younger ones to generate bold recommendations about issues such as best practices in good governance which of course includes the effective empowering use of all conceptual and applied sciences and humanities to readily address quality of life issues. These multicultural restorative justice embedded discussions which generate such innovative recommendations to all levels African governments and civil societies must not only include vital public policy influentials in Africa and in African Diasporas but also those in traditional Western and Eastern locations in need of transforming their growing obsolete imposed " deficit development" presumptions and policies about the continent of Africa.

Online Presentation

Good afternoon, two hours ahead of you, my colleagues in Namibia, greeting all of you from idyllic Mauritius. As graciously said, my name is John Stanfield, the founding Director of ASARPI: The Advanced Study for African Renaissance Ideas, asarpi.org. ASARPI is a non-aligned, hybrid, mostly virtual, Pan-African, and growing Pan-Asian policy advocacy think tank, headquartered in Mauritius with branches in Botswana, Namibia, and South Africa, and soon to be in The Gambia, China, India, and Vietnam. We do most of our work through hybrid and mostly virtual Study-Practice Groups, which bring together multiple, deeply networked stakeholders from public, private, and grassroots communities sectors, to break out of their silos as they address a particular pressing public policy problem. Coming out of my decades of concern about the complexities of vocational education, in relation to other areas of higher education, for the past year, we have been engaged in the effort to incubate a research centre in Africa focused on what has commonly been called TVET. It is through this effort, I have had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Kloppers, NUST administrators, and numerous Namibia-based TVET leaders, as well as in the five other African countries engaged in our Study-Practice Group such as in my own adopted homeland Mauritius, such as Dr. Arvind, who I understand, did a smashing Conference keynote on the critical matter of inclusion in Tvet policies and outcome practices. We are a movement, an identity, as well as an organized think tank. Our core values include transparency, honesty, the pursuit of truth, ingenuity and spirituality.
