“29th of Jan, 2026 was a truly heartwarming and fulfilling day for our Bengali Association as we had the honor of visiting the Meenatchee old age home in Port Louis. We provided a delightful lunch for the 60 inmates and staff, and it was our privilege to serve and share a meal with them. 🌟
Seeing the smiles and twinkles in their eyes was incredibly touching, reminiscent of pure joy.”
This is what Gargi felt and wrote after she visited the Meenatchee Ammen Home. She also mentioned her feelings as under :
“Many inmates engaged with us, their excitement palpable, and their warm hugs filled our hearts with gratitude. They eagerly asked when we would return, and we promised them we'd be back soon.
Participating in such a noble initiative brought immeasurable joy and truly it strengthens the bonds of community and compassion. ❤️

A fantastic start to this new year 2026 with our Blood Donation Drive on 24th January 2026 at Tribecca Mall parking.

We received very good response for this Half day drive and we are very happy to receive enthusiastic donors coming forward for a noble cause.

Every year the Association has year marked 23rd January for a blood donation drive celebrating the birthday of the great freedom fighter and national hero of India, Shri Subhash Chandra Bose.

We take this opportunity to thank all those who spontaneously came forward to support this cause by donating or lending a helping hand in making this drive a success.

A special thanks to IBC, CareEdge and Tribeca Mall for extending all the support to make this program a success.

The year 2025 started on a very positive note for the Association. Like always we initiated the year with our social work programs.

Jan to March we had 3 programs:

Month of February: We visited the Foundation pour L’Interculturel et la Paix, Bambous for organization for children and spent time with them trying to assist them with their requirements.

February again was the month for Mahadhivratri. So the members of the association spontaneously participated in the Mahashivratri Seva for the pilgrims.

Like every year, on 12th March this year too we have organized a Blood Donation Drive on the occasion of Independence Day of Mauritius.

This Mother Language day (21st February) let us celebrate to cherish our mother language that provides us our identity.

On this special day we have the pleasure to announce our Bengali Language Learning online classes in collaboration with the Bengali Association of South Africa, Johannesburg (BASA).

We are excited to join hands with BASA for this initiative and we are sure it will be not only well accepted but will turn out to be a success.
