📢 Tomorrow, the Government will present the National Budget 2026–2027.

As we have done for many years, Inclusion Mauritius, together with its member organisations and partner federations (Voice of Disabled People International , have submitted its budget proposals advocating for the rights, inclusion, and well-being of persons with disabilities.

Our advocacy has extended beyond Mauritius. In 2024, we participated in the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Geneva, contributing to discussions on the implementation of disability rights in Mauritius.

As we await tomorrow's Budget, we remain hopeful that the voices of persons with disabilities, their families, caregivers, and organisations will be heard.

💙 We hope for positive measures that will help build a more inclusive Mauritius where no one is left behind.

🌍 International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2025
Theme: “Fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress”

Dear friends and members of our community

Today, we come together to celebrate not only the strength, resilience, and diversity of persons with disabilities, but also to reaffirm our collective vision for a more inclusive Mauritius.

The 2025 theme reminds us: building a society where everyone has equal opportunity isn’t a nice-to-have.

At Inclusion Mauritius, we believe strongly that inclusion means more than access: it means dignity, respect, agency, and real participation. It means creating spaces — in education, work, public life — where persons with disabilities are not only present, but leading, shaping policies, sharing ideas, driving change.

On this International Day, I invite each one of you from the government, employers, civil society, and communities to join hands. Let’s work together to break down barriers — physical, social, economic — and build an environment where everyone can contribute and flourish.

Let’s make Mauritius a place where inclusion is our normal. Where disability is not a limitation, but part of our shared strength.
