A Special Gift with a Century of History
During our Brownsea Island camp last month, we had the pleasure of meeting Guy Harris and Lisa May from the Fakenham Lancaster Baden-Powell Air Scout Group—a wonderful encounter filled with shared stories and Scout spirit.
Today, we are honoured to highlight the beautiful gift they presented to us: a walking stick carrying a bronze wolf emblem, steeped in history and meaning. This remarkable stick originally came from Brownsea Island over 100 years ago, a silent witness to generations of Scouting. Its twin remains proudly with the Fakenham Air Scouts, symbolising the bond between our two groups.
This gesture reflects everything Baden-Powell envisioned—brotherhood, kindness, and the strength of the Scout family across borders. We are deeply grateful for this meaningful token and for the friendship that continues to grow between our groups.
Thank you, Fakenham Lancaster BP Air Scouts, for sharing a piece of Scouting heritage with us. It will be treasured always.
