🇲🇹 Iltaqa’ mat-Tim – Wayne Galea

Iltaqgħu ma’ Wayne Galea, wieħed mill-voluntiera li se jieħu sehem fl-ispedizzjoni missjunarja Road to Peru.

Wayne għandu 20 sena, huwa min-Naxxar u bħalissa qiegħed jistudja t-Teoloġija u l-Ispanjol fl-Università ta’ Malta. Jħobb jaqra, l-isport u b’mod speċjali l-futbol.

Il-volontarjat minn dejjem kellu post importanti fil-familja tiegħu, u Wayne ilu għal snin involut f’diversi esperjenzi ta’ servizz volontarju.

Il-ħolma li jmur il-Perù ilha miegħu sa minn meta kien żgħir. Għaliex eżatt? Lanqas hu ma jaf! Forsi għall-avventura, jew għax il-ħajja hemmhekk hija kompletament differenti minn dik li aħna mdorrijin biha f’Malta.

F’dan il-filmat, Wayne jitkellem ukoll dwar iż-żewġ affarijiet li l-aktar qed ibeżżgħuh: is-sriep... u r-ross! 🐍🍚

Minn din l-esperjenza, Wayne jixtieq jikseb is-sodisfazzjon li jiġi mill-ħidma ma’ oħrajn u jikber b’mod sħiħ bħala persuna.

🇬🇧 Meet the Team – Wayne Galea

Meet Wayne Galea, one of the volunteers joining the Road to Peru missionary expedition.

Wayne is 20 years old, comes from Naxxar and is currently studying Theology and Spanish at the University of Malta. He enjoys reading, sport and, in particular, football.

Volunteering has always held an important place in his family, and Wayne has been involved in different forms of voluntary work for many years.

His dream of going to Peru has been with him since childhood. Why exactly? Even he is not quite sure! Perhaps for the adventure, or because life there is completely different from what we are used to in Malta.

In this video, Wayne also shares the two things that worry him most: snakes... and rice! 🐍🍚

Through this experience, Wayne hopes to gain the satisfaction that comes from working with others and to continue growing fully as a person.

Iltaqgħu ma’ Mark Fenech, wieħed mill-voluntiera li se jieħu sehem fl-ispedizzjoni missjunarja Road to Peru.

Mark għandu 27 sena, jaħdem fil-qasam tal-infurzar ambjentali u jħobb jitħarreġ fl-OCR — Obstacle Course Racing.

Il-Perù minn dejjem kien pajjiż li xtaq iżur. Iżda meta sar jaf li sħabu kienu se jieħdu sehem f’din il-missjoni, ra opportunità biex jgħaqqad ix-xewqa tiegħu li jżur il-pajjiż ma’ xi ħaġa li hija importanti ħafna għalih: li jgħin lil ħaddieħor.

Mark jaf li se jkun qed iħalli warajh il-kumditajiet tad-dar u jiltaqa’ ma’ realtà kompletament differenti — fosthom il-faqar u kundizzjonijiet naturali li qatt ma esperjenza qabel.

Għalkemm għandu ċertu biża’ dwar dak li jista’ jsib, huwa jittama li din l-esperjenza tgħinu jikber bħala persuna u tagħtih perspettiva ġdida dwar id-dinja u dwar ir-realtajiet differenti li jgħixu fihom in-nies.

🇬🇧 Meet the Team – Mark Fenech

Meet Mark Fenech, one of the volunteers joining the Road to Peru missionary expedition.

Mark is 27 years old, works in environmental enforcement and enjoys training for OCR — Obstacle Course Racing.

Peru is a country he has always wanted to visit. When he discovered that his friends were joining the mission, he saw an opportunity to combine that desire with something equally important to him: helping others.

Mark knows that he will be leaving behind the comforts of home and encountering a completely different reality — including poverty and natural conditions he has never experienced before.

Although he admits to feeling some apprehension about what lies ahead, he hopes the experience will help him grow as a person and give him a new perspective on the world and the very different realities in which people live.

Diego għandu 57 sena, huwa minn Ħad-Dingli u ilu 30 sena miżżewweġ lil Lorna. Huwa involut ħafna fil-volontarjat fil-parroċċa tiegħu u issa ħass li kien wasal iż-żmien li jieħu din l-esperjenza lil hinn minn Malta.

Għalih, il-Perù huwa opportunità biex jiskopri realtà kompletament differenti minn tagħna, filwaqt li jagħti sostenn lil familji fil-bżonn, b’mod speċjali lit-tfal.

Il-vjaġġ twil ma jbeżżgħux. Dak li l-aktar għandu fuq moħħu huwa li jiltaqa’ wiċċ imb wiċċ ma’ realtà fejn il-faqar huwa parti mill-ħajja ta’ kuljum.

Minn din l-esperjenza Diego jittama li jikber spiritwalment u psikoloġikament, u jitgħallem japprezza aktar il-valur tal-ħajja u dak kollu li għandna madwarna. 🙏🇵🇪

🇬🇧 Meet the Team – Diego Attard 🇵🇪

Diego is 57 years old, comes from Dingli and has been married to Lorna for 30 years. He has long been heavily involved in volunteering within his parish and now feels it is time to take that experience beyond Malta.

For him, Peru is an opportunity to discover a reality completely different from our own, while supporting families in need, particularly children.

The long journey does not worry him. What is most on his mind is coming face to face with a reality where poverty is part of everyday life.

Through this experience, Diego hopes to grow spiritually and psychologically and to gain a deeper appreciation of the value of life and everything we have around us. 🙏🇵🇪

Bħala persuna involuta ħafna fil-volontarjat fil-Parroċċa ta’ Ħad-Dingli, Diego ra din l-esperjenza bħala opportunità biex jagħmel pass ieħor: iżur pajjiż imbiegħed u differenti ħafna minn Malta, filwaqt li jagħti sostenn lil familji fil-bżonn, b’mod speċjali lit-tfal.

Dak li l-aktar qed iqanqlu huwa li jiltaqa’ ma’ realtà kompletament differenti minn dik li aħna mdorrijin biha f’Malta — realtà fejn il-faqar ma jibqax xi ħaġa li nisimgħu dwarha, iżda xi ħaġa li se jesperjenza mill-qrib.

Diego jittama li din l-esperjenza tgħinu jikber spiritwalment u psikoloġikament, u fuq kollox japprezza aktar il-valur tal-ħajja u dak kollu li għandna.

🇬🇧 Meet the Team – Diego Attard

Meet Diego Attard, one of the volunteers joining the Road to Peru missionary expedition.

Diego is 57 years old, comes from Dingli and has been married to Lorna for 30 years. Together they have two children, Joel and Matthias. He works in an office for a private company and has a particular interest in aviation, drama and music.

Having been heavily involved in volunteering within the parish of Dingli, Diego saw this experience as an opportunity to take another step: to visit a country very different and far removed from Malta, while supporting families in need, particularly children.

What concerns him most is encountering a reality completely different from the one we are accustomed to in Malta — one where poverty will no longer be something he merely hears about, but something he will experience at first hand.

Diego hopes the experience will help him grow spiritually and psychologically and, above all, appreciate more deeply the value of life and everything we have.
