That’s a wrap on JOTA-JOTI at Birżebbuġa Scout Group HQ! 🔵⚪🔴

From radio waves to online connections, our Scouts had the chance to connect with fellow Scouts around the 🌎, explore the world of communication, and experience the magic of being part of something truly global!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who took part and made this event a memorable one! 🙌

📻 A special thanks to radio amateurs Neil Schembri (9H2AR) and Stephen Vella (9H1SV) who supported us, sharing their knowledge, passion, and expertise with our Scouts and helping make this experience even more meaningful!
🌐 A big shout-out to GO for providing internet connectivity and helping keep our Scouts connected to the world!

These are the moments that remind us that Scouting goes beyond borders, bringing young people together under one Scouting spirit 💜⚜️

46km. 3 Days. What a Journey! ⛺⛈️
Last weekend, our Ventures took on a 3-day heritage and cultural trail expedition as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award! ⚜️
Three days of hiking along the western coastline, setting up tents, cooking their meals, and even facing the crazy thunderstorm on Saturday! ⚡️
These journeys are just as much a mental challenge as a physical one, testing our resilience, teamwork and determination. A massive well done to our Unit! 💜

🥾🏕️ 13KM Hike & Overnight Adventure! 🌿

13 kilometres of walking, plenty of challenges, teamwork, laughter, and unforgettable memories! 💪🔥

After a long hike, there’s nothing better than spending the night outdoors, enjoying good company and the true spirit of Scouting! ⚜️

Tired legs, happy faces, and another adventure in the books! 💚

Last weekend, some of our Ventures headed to Għajn Tuffieħa to discover more about the importance of the Natura 2000 clay slopes, participate in a beach clean-up, and planted their own esparto grass plant to help protect the slopes from erosion. 🌱
A big thank you to Ambjent Malta 🌳 and the Environmental Nature Stewards for organising this hands-on experience and giving our Ventures another opportunity to learn while making a positive contribution to our environment! 🌍💚

Our Ventures joined TownsLab 2027 – Activity 2, part of an Erasmus+ project led by the Venture Unit of Pembroke Scout Group. ⚜️
It was a great day bringing together 120 participants, 10 Scout Groups, youths from different towns and villages, organisations and policymakers. Together they dicussed ideas and experiences around important topics such as transport, quality of life and the environment in our towns. 🌱🚶‍♀️🚌

More TownsLab activities are planned, giving young people further opportunities to get involved and help shape better, safer and more liveable communities. 🙌

Thank you TownsLab 2027 and Pembroke Scout Group for bringing everyone together! 🇪🇺⚜️

🎯 Investing in our leaders, investing in our young people!

Yesterday, our leaders took part in The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award training for Award Leaders and Assessors, strengthening our skills to give our members the best possible experience.

A big thank you to The Scout Association of Malta and The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Malta for supporting our leaders! 🙌

🌍 Working together for a better future! 🤝 ⚜️

Our Troop Section proudly represented Birżebbuġa at Scouts and Guides for the Goals, presenting our work linked to SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.

The experience highlighted an important message: meaningful change happens when young people, communities and organisations work together towards common goals.

🙏 A big thank you to Sustainable Development Malta for this opportunity and to Kunsill Lokali Birżebbuġa for its collaboration and continued support.

This weekend’s (the Ventures National Activity) was a great chance to meet other ventures from all across Malta. Day 1 brought plenty of rain and a valuable lesson in adapting and making the best of things even when plans change.

But after making it through the rain, Day 2 rewarded us with blue skies and a fun Scout Mystery activity with other units! ☀️🙌

Sometimes you can’t wait for the storm to pass…you have to learn to dance in the rain 😊

Special thanks to Kunsill Lokali Birżebbuġa for providing us with transport as part of the Transport Scheme for Local Groups!
