Монгол Экологи Төв нь тусгай хамгаалалттай газар нутгийн хамгаалалтын менежментэд олон улсын шилдэг арга туршлагаас нэвтрүүлэх, байгаль хамгаалагчдын мэргэжлийн ур чадварыг дээшлүүлэх, өсвөр үеийнхэнд байгаль орчин, тогтвортой хөгжлийн боловсрол олгож дэмжих зорилготойгоор 2009 онд үүсгэн байгуулагдсан.

The Mongol Ecology Center (MEC), founded in 2009, works to ensure a thriving future for Mongolia by transferring best practices to preserve the environment, natural resources, and cultural heritage of Mongolia. MEC recognizes an international best practice to preserve a country's natural and cultural heritage is through a national system of parks and protected areas. These places, when properly managed, often serve the dual purpose of supporting sustainable economic development and the perpetual preservation of nationally important resources. MEC established Lake Hovsgol Conservancy (LHC) in 2012 to support the protection and management of Lake Hovsgol National Park to help the park sustain its wilderness resources, protect the indigenous nomadic culture and ensure locally provided tourism activities. In recent years, the Conservancy has been focusing on the following areas: improving park ranger management, conservation, and education skills, expanding park facilities, establishing interdisciplinary and place-based education programs, and initiating tourism-related workforce development for local residents. Since 2013, we have expanded our collaboration by working with three other protected areas in the Darkhad Valley of Hovsgol aimag: Horidol Saridag and Ulaan Taiga Strictly Protected Areas and Tengis Shishged National Park. Currently, we are implementing the following programs:

- Rally for Rangers
- Junior Rangers
- EU-funded Youth Sustainability Corps.
