It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of *Prof.N.E.M.Jayasekara* the founding head of the Department of Plantation Management , Faculty of Agriculture and Plantation Management , Wayamba University of Sri Lanka.

He joined Wayamba University of Sri Lanka in 1996 and served as the Head of the Department from 03.01.2000 to 02.01.2006, providing visionary leadership in establishing and strengthening the department. He continued his dedicated academic service until his retirement on 11.06.2008.

His wisdom and commitment were an inspiration. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

May he attain the supreme bliss of Nibbana! 🕯️
