Our Vision
To strive for a society in which

Our Values are based on three beliefs
• The importance of having the opportunity to explore difficult feelings
• That being listened to in confidence and accepted without prejudice can alleviate despair and suicida

Our service is offered by 100+ trained volunteers and is entirely dependent on voluntary support and donations. We are member of Befrienders Worldwide, the International arm of Samaritans in the UK and Republic of Ireland.

General information

You can talk to Sumithrayo at any time on any day between 9.00am and 8.00pm There are lots of different reasons why someone might want to talk to Sumithrayo. Some of the common reasons to contact us include: • Relationship and family problems • Loss, including loss of a job, a friend or a family member through bereavement • Financial worries • Job-related stress or overwork • College or study related stress • Body image issues Volunteers offer support by responding to phone calls, emails and letters. Alternatively, you can drop in to a branch to have a face to face meeting. The Sumithrayo remain non-sectarian and non political. Service provided is FREE OF CHARGE.
