🇪🇺 Ways of Europe: Same Journey, Next Chapter ✨

Yesterday, October 13, the European Parliament hosted a day of dialogue and exchange, bringing the ideas, experiences and proposals developed throughout the project directly into the heart of European institutions.

🌍 From Brussels to Lampedusa, from Calais and Dunkirk to Budapest and Barcelona, with further milestones in Turin and Rome, each stage of the journey gave young people the opportunity to express their perspectives, transforming reflections on democracy, solidarity, human rights and inclusion into manifestos, creative outputs and concrete policy recommendations.

🤝 The event brought together civil society organisations, project participants and European institutional representatives to discuss the project's outcomes, identify opportunities for future cooperation and explore how citizen participation, particularly among young people and underrepresented communities, can become a more permanent and meaningful part of democratic decision-making processes.

🏛️ The exchanges provided an important opportunity to share the project's recommendations with institutional stakeholders and strengthen connections between civil society and European institutions, highlighting the importance of turning participatory experiences into lasting democratic practices.

💬 As Ways of Europe reaches the end of its journey, one question remains open: how can we ensure that citizens' voices continue to shape European policies and decisions beyond the lifetime of individual projects?

🇪🇺 Bruxelles: Same Jurney, Next Chapter ✨

Yesterday, October 12, the partners of Ways of Europe gathered at the European Youth Forum in Brussels for the opening day of “Same Journey, Next Chapter”, the project's final event.

🤝 The afternoon was dedicated to a co-construction workshop, bringing together project partners to review the main results, share lessons learned and reflect on the experiences developed throughout the project.

This morning, the activities continue at the European Parliament with an exchange involving civil society organisations. Through five thematic roll-ups dedicated to the project's transnational stops, participants are discussing the manifestos, creative outputs and recommendations developed throughout the journey, exploring opportunities for future collaboration and stronger citizen participation in European decision-making.

🌍 After a journey across Europe exploring democracy, solidarity, human rights and anti-discrimination, the final event offers an opportunity to bring these experiences together and discuss how the project's outcomes can inform future initiatives and policies ✨

🇮🇹 Rome – Communication Campaign Workshop 🇪🇺

Over the past two days, partners from across Europe gathered in Rome for the Ways of Europe Communication Campaign Workshop, working together to transform the project's shared experiences into a common communication strategy.

📍 Hosted by .scs and , the workshop began with a collective reflection on the journey of Ways of Europe, revisiting the outcomes of the transnational mobilities and the project's Manifesto. Divided into working groups, participants connected two articles of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union with the activities and milestones of the project, creating visual panels that will become part of an exhibition. Each panel will also feature a QR code linking to audio content recorded at the dedicated radio corner, curated by .

On the second day, participants finalised the exhibition panels and refined the communication campaign, consolidating the project's key messages before presenting the final results. The workshop marked another important step in turning the experiences, ideas and values developed throughout Ways of Europe into communication tools that can continue engaging communities beyond the project itself.

These two days in Rome highlighted the power of co-creation, showing how dialogue, creativity and diverse perspectives can come together to build a shared European narrative ✨

🇮🇹 Turin – Day 2 🇪🇺

Yesterday marked the second day of the Ways of Europe transnational event in Turin, as participants continued working together to shape shared policy proposals for a more democratic and inclusive Europe.

📍 The day began with a collective reflection on the outcomes of the previous working groups, followed by collaborative sessions dedicated to revising and refining the policy recommendations developed during the assembly. Throughout the day, participants worked together to turn ideas into concrete proposals through dialogue and cooperation.

In the afternoon, Afaf Ezzamouri led a thought-provoking session on education, citizenship and meaningful participation, exploring how schools and culture can help strengthen democratic engagement and challenge dominant narratives.

The event has come to an end, but today we're heading to Rome for another conference ✨

🇮🇹 Turin – Day 1 🇪🇺

Yesterday marked the first day of the Ways of Europe transnational event in Turin, bringing together participants and partners from across Europe.

📍 The day was dedicated to sharing experiences, exchanging perspectives and exploring key topics related to youth participation, inclusion and active citizenship. Through workshops, discussions and collaborative activities, participants had the opportunity to learn from one another and reflect on the challenges and opportunities shaping their local communities.

Beyond the programme itself, the event also offered valuable moments for informal exchange, strengthening connections between organisations and creating new opportunities for future collaboration ✨

Today, the programme continues with further activities and discussions as we keep building ideas, networks and shared visions for Europe.

🇪🇺 The Transnational Assembly is more than a space for discussion.

Its goal is to offer participants an experience that can be adapted and replicated across different contexts, from associations and local communities to institutions and civic networks.

By bringing together participants from across Europe, the Assembly aims to strengthen skills, critical awareness, and the capacity to collaborate beyond national borders, promoting participation as a shared and everyday democratic practice 🤝

In a context marked by polarization, declining trust in institutions, and shrinking civic space, creating meaningful opportunities for participation is becoming increasingly important 🤝

According to Luciano Scagliotti of Altera , processes such as the Transnational Assembly provide a way to address complexity through dialogue and the collective development of proposals, demonstrating that participation can be inclusive, informed, and action-oriented.

📍On 23 and 24 June in Turin, participants and young ambassadors from across Europe will work together to transform two years of activities carried out within the project into recommendations addressed to policymakers.

❔ How can a participatory process bring together people from different European countries?

The Ways of Europe Transnational Assembly organized by Altera will be based on the principles of deliberative democracy: expert inputs, facilitated discussions in small groups, and the collective development of recommendations 🤝

As Luciano Scagliotti explains, the aim is to create a shared space where the work carried out throughout the project’s different European stages can converge, transforming experiences, reflections, and proposals into a collective process of deliberation.

🇮🇹 Turin, here we come! 🇪🇺

The journey continues with a new important step: in Turin with Altera we will carry out an experimental Transnational Assembly — a participatory model designed to bring together voices, experiences and perspectives from different European contexts.

📍 Over two days of collective work, discussions and exchanges, partners and participants will explore how a transnational participatory assembly can become not only a space for dialogue, but also a model with the potential to be institutionalised in the future.

From workshops and panels to shared moments across the city, the programme will focus on participation, democracy and collaboration between communities and organisations from across Europe.

But the work doesn’t stop there ✨�After Turin, the project will continue in Rome on June 25th and 26th, where we will come together once again to develop the new campaign — a campaign that each partner will later bring into their own local realities and communities.

Days of dialogue, experimentation and collective action are about to begin. Stay tuned — we’ll be sharing moments from Turin and Rome along the way.

🇪🇸 Barcelona – Day 3 🇪🇺

The final day of the transnational event brought us to the Parliament of Catalonia, where participants were welcomed by local authorities.

During the morning, the draft manifesto developed throughout the previous days was presented; the result of collective work, dialogue and shared reflections across the whole group 📜

📍 During the day, participants also had the opportunity to take part in a guided visit to the Ajuntament de Barcelona, gaining further insight into the city’s institutional and civic landscape.

The session concluded with a final evaluation, marking the end of three intense days of exchange, learning and collaboration in Barcelona.

This is not an ending, but part of a wider journey. From Brussels to Lampedusa, from Calais to Budapest, each stop of has contributed to building a shared vision shaped by different voices and experiences ✨
