A year ago, a trainee from France did an internship at a Valueable member hotel in Milan. 🇫🇷 ➡ 🇮🇹

What do partnerships mean in practice?
Thanks to the agreement between Associazione Italiana Persone con Sindrome di Down - AIPD Nazionale and Minor Hotels two new work experiences have been completed in September 2026. Nicola Barile and Michele Maggi gained new skills in breakfast service and hospitality whilst training at NH Congress Center in Milan.

Seven young people. One hotel. A real workplace to learn in.
🆕 A new training experience has begun at an Nh Hotel Bergamo, thanks to the partnership between Associazione Italiana Persone con Sindrome di Down - AIPD Nazionale and Minor Hotels.


🛎️Over the coming months they will take turns working in the hotel, gaining hands-on experience as waiters and room attendants.
🔑Learning new skills!
🤝Practicing teamwork!

🔀Building confidence in new tasks!
🛏️Paying close attention to detail!

Today we meet Paul and Julie, two members of the team at the five-star Conrad Dublin.

Paul works front of house as a porter. He welcomes guests and helps bring their luggage to their rooms.

Julie is part of the chef’s team. She works in the kitchen, preparing food for the hotel’s guests.

The Conrad Dublin employs six adults with Down syndrome and also runs a Barista Academy in partnership with Down Syndrome Ireland.

The hotel joined the Valueable network in 2025 and holds Silver accreditation.

Paul and Julie show us what inclusion at work looks like in everyday practice: having a role, contributing to the team and being recognised for your work.
