🌱 From Framework to Action: Advancing a Just Transition in Bangladesh’s Fashion Industry 🌍📢

Today, 26 October 2026, stakeholders from Bangladesh’s garment and fashion industry, government, labor organizations, development partners, civil society, and climate advocates came together at Lakeshore Hotel, Dhaka, to discuss pathways towards a "Just Energy Transition" in Bangladesh’s fashion industry.

The dialogue focused on three key priorities, one of which is building a worker-centered Just Energy Transition roadmap that ensures workers’ voices, rights, and livelihoods remain at the heart of climate action. Another one is mobilizing fair and accessible financing to overcome barriers to decarbonization while ensuring that the costs and risks of transition are shared equitably. And the last one is strengthening multi-stakeholder collaboration to advance climate adaptation, encourage investment, and turn commitments into meaningful action.

The event brought together diverse perspectives from industry leaders, workers, representatives, government, international organizations, development partners, and civil society—emphasizing that a just transition requires collective action, shared responsibility, and meaningful participation.

Together, we can move from framework to action and build a fashion industry that is climate-resilient, worker-centered, inclusive, and sustainable. 🌍🤝

This program is jointly organized by Stand Earth, Breaking the Silence, and Oxfam in Bangladesh.
