Meet farmer Dadabhau Sandbhor.

On 1 acre of land, Dadabhau has developed a fruit-tree-based agroforestry system with mango and papaya.

With 300 papaya plants and nearly 400 mango plants, his farm is moving towards a more diversified farming system. The papaya crop has already given him a good yield this year, while farmyard manure remains an important part of his cultivation practices.

For Dadabhau, the guidance and support from AGRO RANGERS have been an important part of this journey.
One farm at a time, farmers are exploring ways to make their land more productive and sustainable.

Meet farmer Vikas Punde.

For Vikas, just half an acre of fruit tree-based agroforestry is already becoming a meaningful source of income.

With 750 saplings from AGRO RANGERS, he has developed his farm using drumstick and intercrops like brinjal and chilli, while following organic farming practices.

The results are encouraging - his drumstick crop alone has generated more than ₹50,000 in income.

For him, the benefits go beyond earnings. With lower water requirements and the potential for healthier, more sustainable farming, he sees organic farming as the way forward.

A special moment for AGRO RANGERS at Vigyan Ashram’s Open House Exhibition this year. 🌱

We are happy to share that Akshay Sawant, our proud Board Member at AGRO RANGERS, received the ‘Special Impact Award DIC 2026’ from Vigyan Ashram on 30 July 2026, in recognition of his contribution to the development of the AKXY Home Composter during his tenure in 2019. This recognition also adds to a meaningful journey with Vigyan Ashram.
We were glad to participate in this year’s Open House Exhibition, which brought together students, innovators, startups, farmers and organisations showcasing diverse ideas and solutions.

Our stall provided an opportunity to showcase our work and products, explain our agroforestry and land restoration model, and interact with students, innovators, farmers and other visitors who showed interest in learning more about AGRO RANGERS.

Beyond showcasing our work, the exhibition was a valuable space for networking, learning and exchanging ideas with people working on innovative solutions across different sectors.

Akshay’s recognition in 2026, we are grateful to Vigyan Ashram for encouraging and recognising meaningful contributions towards innovation and sustainable development.

Meet farmer Mangesh Gawade from Kendur, Pune.

Like many farmers, Mangesh once relied on traditional farming methods. Today, with the support of AGRO RANGERS, he has transitioned to a mixed-fruit farming model with papaya, moringa, and lemon.

The journey began with understanding his land. From assessing the soil to recommending suitable fruit trees and providing saplings, our team worked closely with him at every step.

Today, his farm is steadily moving towards a more diversified and resilient farming system - one that has the potential to improve soil health, reduce risk, and create sustainable income opportunities for the future.

Every farm has a different story, but they all begin with the willingness to try something new.

We're excited to announce the launch of Mission PRANA-our next step in expanding regenerative agroforestry to more farming communities.

Since 2020, AGRO RANGERS has been researching, designing, and implementing regenerative agroforestry models that help small and marginal farmers transition from monocropping to diversified, climate-resilient farming systems.

Over the past few years, we've successfully implemented these models across 300 acres of degraded farmland, working with nearly 300 farmers in Pune district and generating scientific evidence of their long-term impact.

This year marks an important milestone.

Through Mission PRANA, we have expanded our work to Jintur and Selu blocks of Parbhani district, taking these proven models to new farming communities.

This initiative is being implemented in collaboration with Glaubark to enable future carbon credit opportunities for farmers and with the support of Mahatransco CSR, helping us scale climate-resilient agriculture where it is needed most.

Mission PRANA is more than a plantation project. It is about restoring degraded farmlands, improving soil health, reducing dependence on chemical inputs, strengthening biodiversity, and creating sustainable, long-term livelihoods for farming families.

We look forward to working closely with farmers and partners as we build healthier soils, stronger communities, and a more climate-resilient future.

Using organic inputs like cow dung manure, the plantation is helping improve soil health while protecting the land from erosion. More importantly, it represents a long-term investment that can continue generating income for years to come.

His perspective says it all: "If these fruit trees perform well, we'll focus only on fruit cultivation in the future because growing traditional crops comes with many challenges."

Farmer by farmer, we're seeing a shift from short-term uncertainty to farming systems designed for resilience, healthier soils, and sustainable livelihoods.

Nature supports more than we often notice.

It stabilises soil, supports pollinators, regulates water cycles, and keeps ecosystems functioning in ways that agriculture depends on every day.

Conservation is not separate from farming. It is part of what allows farming to continue.

On World Nature Conservation Day, we take a moment to recognise that protecting natural systems is also an investment in long-term livelihoods.

At AGRO RANGERS, we work with farmers to strengthen the connection between productive farms and healthy ecosystems.
