There is no real "off-season" on a farm.

Between harvests, there is land preparation. After a crop cycle, there is soil recovery. Saplings planted this year need consistent care long before they earn a single rupee.

This is part of why our work with farmers doesn't stop after a plantation drive - continuous field visits, monitoring, and guidance are what carry a model from planted to productive.

Every farm leaves a footprint.

The question is what happens when we begin to reduce it — through better soil management, efficient water use, trees on farms, renewable energy, and less waste.

Healthy soil can store carbon. Trees can provide shade, improve landscapes, and support biodiversity. Small changes, repeated across farms, can add up.

Zero Emissions Day gives us a reason to think about how everyday choices affect the air, soil, and climate around us.

Bamboo grows fast, needs relatively little care, and has been part of rural life for generations.

It can provide material for homes and everyday products, help stabilise soil, and add another useful layer to a diverse landscape.

For farming communities, plants like bamboo can have value beyond a single harvest. They can contribute to livelihoods while becoming part of the landscape itself.

On World Bamboo Day, we’re reminded to look at familiar plants differently — not only for what they produce today, but for what they can contribute over time.

For Vivek Bhujbal from Pimpri Bk., Khed, agroforestry is changing the way he looks at his farm.

On one acre of his 1.5-acre farm, Vivek has developed a fruit-based agroforestry system with papaya, guava, moringa and mango, with support from AGRO RANGERS through quality saplings, drip irrigation and biofertilisers.

Now in its second year, the farm has already started producing guava and papaya, with around ₹50,000 earned from the produce so far.

Vivek also sees a difference in how the land is managed. With less tilling and greater diversity, the farm is gradually developing into a more healthy and thriving ecosystem.

For him, agroforestry is about creating a farming system that can support both the land and the farm’s productivity over time.

Its recovery is a reminder that environmental action can make a difference, especially when countries, communities, and individuals work towards a common goal.

On World Ozone Day, we’re reminded that some of the most important environmental progress happens over years — through consistent choices and collective action.

Some partnerships grow through action.

We’re happy to announce our partnership with Europlak SV Cucine India Limited, who are supporting AGRO RANGERS with 1,000 saplings as part of their commitment to environmental sustainability and farmer empowerment.

On 30 August, 22 Europlak employees joined us at a farm in Bahul, Khed, Pune, for a hands-on plantation activity, planting Jamun and Coconut saplings and spending time with the soil and farming community.

It was more than a plantation drive - it was an opportunity to experience the work behind creating greener, more resilient agricultural landscapes.

Here’s to growing this partnership and its impact, one tree and one farm at a time.

Sustainability in agriculture cannot stop at the farm.

For farming to truly be sustainable, it must also support the farmer’s income, reduce unnecessary risks, and remain viable over the long term.

Healthy soil, diversified crops, efficient water use and resilient farming systems all play a role in building farms that can support farmers for years to come.

Because a farming system is only truly sustainable when both the land and the farmer can thrive.

A newly planted mango or jamun tree can take two to three years before it earns anything.

That's a long gap for a farmer who needs income every season - which is why most of our agroforestry models pair long-term trees with a short-term crop like papaya, drumstick, or vegetables in between.

The short-term crop pays the bills while the trees are still growing.
The trees become the long-term income once the crop cycle ends.

It's not one or the other. It's both, timed to overlap.
