ਸੱਚੀ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣਕ ਸਥਿਰਤਾ ਦੇ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਸਧਾਰਣ ਪਰ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸੱਚਾਈ ਹੈ: ਟਿਕਾਊ ਬਦਲਾਅ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਉਦੋਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਲੋਕ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਇਕੱਲੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਾਈ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ—ਇਹ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹੇ ਸੰਵਾਦ, ਸਾਂਝੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਿਆਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿਰਭਰ ਸਰੋਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਆਪ ਸੰਭਾਲਦੇ ਹਨ। ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਵਿਹਾਰਕ ਤਜਰਬਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਆਦਾਨ-ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨਾ, ਸਥਾਨਕ ਗਿਆਨ ਦਾ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਨਿਭਾਉਣਾ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਅਤੇ ਲਚਕੀਲੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵੱਲ ਵਧਣ ਦੇ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਕਦਮ ਹਨ।
ਇਸੇ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਨਾਲ, CIPT ਨੇ ਸੰਗਰੂਰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਨਾਗਰਾ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਜਲ ਹਫ਼ਤਾ ਮਨਾਇਆ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ, ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਥੀਮ, “ਲੋਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਤਰੱਕੀ ਲਈ ਪਾਣੀ” ਦੇ ਤਹਿਤ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ CIPT ਦੇ ਫੀਲਡ ਓਪਰੇਸ਼ਨਜ਼ ਮੈਨੇਜਰ ਡਾ. ਹਰਦੀਪ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਇੱਕ ਸੰਵਾਦਾਤਮਕ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੇਂਡੂ ਜੀਵਨ-ਜੀਵਿਕਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਇਮ ਰੱਖਣ ਅਤੇ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੀ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਅਹਿਮ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਉਜਾਗਰ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਥਾ ਨਾ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ, ਸਗੋਂ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ।
ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਜਲਦੀ ਹੀ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਵੱਲ ਵਧੀ। CIPT ਟੀਮ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਵਾਟਰਵਰਕਸ ਦੀ ਸਫ਼ਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੜ-ਸੁਧਾਰ ਲਈ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਹ ਵਾਟਰਵਰਕਸ ਪਿੰਡ ਲਈ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਸਰੋਤ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਘਰੇਲੂ ਲੋੜਾਂ ਲਈ ਪਾਣੀ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਵਿਹਾਰਕ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀ ਨੇ ਦਰਸਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਸਾਫ਼, ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਲਭ ਜਲ ਬੁਨਿਆਦੀ ਢਾਂਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਇਮ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਦੀ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਮਾਲਕੀ ਕਿੰਨੀ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਸੋਸਾਇਟੀ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਨੇ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਪਾਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ’ਤੇ ਵੀ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਜਦਕਿ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਝੋਨੇ ਦੀ ਕਾਸ਼ਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਤਜਰਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਹਾਣੀਆਂ ਸਾਂਝੀਆਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਤਜਰਬਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਦਰਸਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਵਿਹਾਰਕ ਅਤੇ ਖੇਤ ਪੱਧਰ ’ਤੇ ਪਰਖੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਹੇਠਲੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਜੀਵਿਕਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਦੇ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਵੀ ਵਧੀ। CIPT ਦੇ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਸੋਸਾਇਟੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੂਟੇ ਲਗਾਏ। ਇਸ ਪਹਿਲਕਦਮੀ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਦਰਸਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਾ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਮਾਰਗਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਦਰੱਖਤ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਧ ਸਕਣ ਅਤੇ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿਣ।

ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਸਲਾਹਕਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਧੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨੀ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਦਿਆਂ, CIPT ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਸੱਚਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਰੇਖਾਂਕਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ: ਅਸਲ ਸਰੋਤ ਸਥਿਰਤਾ ਉਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਬਣਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ, ਕਿਸਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਦੇ ਹਨ।

At the heart of true environmental sustainability lies a simple, profound truth: lasting change begins when people come together. Water security cannot be built in isolation—it is nurtured through open dialogue, shared knowledge, and communities taking ownership of the resources they depend upon. Exchanging hands-on farming insights, drawing on local wisdom, and taking collective responsibility for the environment are important stepping stones towards a more resilient future.
In this spirit, CIPT observed World Water Week in Nagra village, Sangrur district, bringing together local farmers, civic leaders, and village residents around this year’s theme, “Water for People and Progress.”
The gathering began with an interactive awareness session led by Dr. Hardeep Kumar, Field Operations Manager at CIPT, who highlighted the indispensable role of water in sustaining rural livelihoods and strengthening long-term economic resilience. He encouraged the community to view water conservation not simply as a farming practice, but as a shared responsibility towards future generations.
The conversation soon moved from awareness to action. CIPT team members worked alongside villagers to clean and restore the local waterworks, an important source of water for the village and a facility that supports daily household needs. The hands-on activity demonstrated how community participation and local ownership can play a vital role in maintaining clean, safe, and accessible water infrastructure.
The Society Secretary further emphasised the need for responsible water management across farming practices, while local farmers shared their own experiences and success stories with water-saving techniques in paddy cultivation. Their experiences demonstrated how practical, field-tested approaches can help conserve precious groundwater while supporting agricultural livelihoods.
The spirit of collective action extended beyond water management. CIPT representatives joined Society President Kuldeep Singh and community members in planting saplings in the village. Welcoming the initiative, President Singh expressed the community’s interest in continued technical guidance to help ensure the trees grow and thrive in the years
The event was facilitated by CIPT’s key team members—including Deputy Field Operations Manager Prem Singh Sidhu, Training Officer Dr. Navdeep Kaur, Operations Assistant Dinesh Kumar, Project Coordinator Kulbir Singh, Field Supervisor Jatinder Singh, and Field Cadre Harpreet Singh.
By connecting agricultural advisory with direct grassroots participation, CIPT reaffirmed a vital truth: true resource sustainability is built when institutions, farmers, and local communities move forward as one.
