If we look back today, it will be difficult to imagine that even the concept or idea of Fulfilling dreams Foundation was non-existent before the April 2015. The idea about the fact that there are countless number of people who need us has always lingered about in our minds. Shreya is a 9 year old girl who lives close to the Nizamuddin Railway Station. For her, home is a small piece of land on the
pavement with a black rug as the roof. She has exactly one gown, one red ribbon that she uses for her hair and one pair of worn out slippers that she shares with her 4 year old brother. When asked about her dream, she replied, "I want to eat one day's meal on a proper plate. How many plates do we have at our homes?20?30? Some made of china, some of glas, some of steel. And then there is this little girl living on the streets of the same city as us, whose life's dream is to eat on such a plate for just a day. This is not the reality of just one girl or just one family. More than 25 lakh people in our city share a similar or an even worse fate as Shreya. Nature always works on a basic principle of setting a balance. But helping the people around us who are suffering due to extreme shortage of basic resources is a job that the nature left for us to do. However, the sheer number of people below the poverty line is a sign telling us that we are not doing our job properly. Statistically speaking, if every person in the city contribute a small amount towards the welfare of someone, the collected funds would turn out to be even more than the required amount. Fulfilling Dreams Foundation is an NGO that is committed to do everything it can in its limits to help such people. Acknowledging to the fact that this is the time the limits are expanded. After the latest upgrade, we decided that it was no longer required to stay restricted to only the hunger drives. After all hunger was just one aspect of poverty. So we moved on to the next level. We also started providing educational support to children. We had achieved a lot in this short period of time. And what motivated us to keep moving on was the smile that the kids gave us, the blessings that the elders gave us. So for us, the sky is the limit.
